Currently a 2nd year associate at KPMG making 80k (very underpaid). Got approached by Accenture for 120. Should I take it or stay on at KPMG? Does the long term loyalty matter? How is Accenture in comparison and why would you make a switch.

Go because 50% raise

like

Go for the money. Also believe ACN is a better firm than KPMG

likefunnysmart

And honestly, as long as you’re getting paid well it shouldn’t matter where you’re at!

If the loyalty mattered they would have have given you a higher matching raise already. There is no such thing as loyalty anymore. Jump, get the pay bump and then rejoin in a year or 2 at the higher salary range if you really want to work at KPMG.

Lol 80k underpaid I made 58k my 2nd year at PWC back in the day

like

Well back in the day 52k was 80k

Go. I came from ACN, the only way to get paid fairly is bouncing around. I did the same 1st year C at ACN at 86 to first year SA here at 130. Consulting is basically the same across the big4/ACN, go where you get paid

like

Will KPMG pay the same when I get promoted in October? What about talking internally to match?

No, not even close. You’ll likely see 90-95 as a first year SA.

Take it! Live your life

I’m at $125k and I’m 32 😩

Eh I’m at roughly 105 at 30. Gotta love coming in as Army vet.

Take it

Take both and work for ACN until offices open

Long term loyalty doesn’t really matter unless you’ve been spotted by the leadership as a superstar and you’re confident that you can get to partner in 12-14 years.

Lmao $80k for only 2 YOE is underpaid for people?… granted if you’re in SWE and in a HCOL that is but seriously, come on now!

@KPMG3 granted, I did come out of UG @ $80k base but still… it’s great if you’re single and fresh out of college

In the same position as you but with a different firm OP! I took the offer. Giving notice next week.

Evaluating an offer in Canada with Avanade base pay - 160k CAD, 6% annual bonus, 10k CAD sign on , location - Toronto. YoE - 11 years, already have a Canadian PR. Currently in the US employed with EY at 150k USD base, but on a H1B visa, GC EB3 PD 2019. Worth it? Avanade folks?

Planning to accept another job soon but have a scheduled 1 week vacation starting next week. When should I put in 2 weeks notice that I’m leaving? Is it a risk that they withdraw approval of my long-approved PTO? New job wants me to start ASAP so I’d feel bad delaying start dat over a month if the solution is to wait until after vacation to give 2weeks notice

How have people decided it was time to look at other firms? I like my firm just fine, but I don’t love it. I’m not sure if that means it’s time to look elsewhere or if it’s just a normal don’t love it like I wouldn’t love any job. I’m sure corona is playing a part too, just don’t love the culture, lack of transparency in what it takes to move up, lack of formal reviews, etc. I’m pretty junior and firm is ~100 attorneys for context

I wanted to post this for those who see and those who need to see: I, along with you, feel dejected by my current position. But I went to an absolutely no name school and could not find a job out of college for 5-6 months. Randomly got an interview request from PwC for a position I never applied for through LinkedIn. All this to say, everyones path is different and yours will work out how it should. Everything happens for a reason, assuming you always put your best foot forward. May we succeed.
