Currently a data scientist (with a CS and math undergrad background) but thoughts on going back to school for a DS masters in a specialized track (such as genomics, computational biology)? I’m on the fence of if j should go back to school or not

If you're already a data scientist at a big tech company and have the title, there's very little incentive of getting a master's. You're better off just getting onto cool projects and jumping around to better roles as the opportunities pop up.

Your portfolio of work is much more important than credentials in this field.

There is an exception that if you want to do research you either need a phd or to get published a few times.

DS masters may not be worth it. I would look at more specialized masters like comp bio, or comp stat, statistical genetics etc if you want to go down that route. The reason is that the value of comp bio is the latter part... discovering biological insights.

Can I ask what your salary is?

I would do it. It will probably get you over the 200k mark.

Are you going to study those methods on your own anyway, are you the type who is comfortable studying only part time, and have you been getting a good amount of interviews in those fields as is? If yes to all, can skip the masters

Hola everyone,
I have 1.5years of experience in Angular and recently i started looking for job opportunities. I was hoping that it will take 2-3 months at least to find a job opportunity and then when i serve 90 days notice period then I'll have around 2years of experience. But i got an offer letter in the first company i interviewed at and they are offering 80% hike.
I think i still have many things to learn and i can do it in my current company. Now should i accept that offer letter or reject
