Does my military experience count as YOE…if I apply to Supply Chain/Operations Strategy positions @ Big4/Accenture? I’m just trying to understand how the consulting world views military experience-is it leadership potential? Relevant industry knowledge? I have 8 yoe as a “manager” in the army, leading Operation and Supply Chain initiatives (six sigma certs etc). I have other YOE too but just don’t know if I should include the military stuff or not.
I have 3 YOE at Infosys as Senior systems Engineer. Am pursuing my MBA and applied for Business Requirement Analysis Business Analyst role at Accenture.

I’m look to enter another area of Finance at this point instead of starting over somewhere else from scratch, but not sure what direction to go. Interested in Investment Banking or M&A.

Yesterday was a little hard since the majority of social chatter was SCOTUS. Hard because I know so many people here voted for Trump and now I’m never bringing my daughter to work again.

I am slightly annoyed with some recruiters who are reaching out to me for some analyst level roles, and when they reach out to my male colleague with identical background they would present him the manager role in the same department. This is not an isolated observation but years of observing recruiting cycle.
Any audible book recommendations?
I have been a confident person my whole life, but working in banking has taken that out of me over the last few months. Did anyone struggle with this early on? Specifically, I struggle with imposter syndrome sometimes questioning how I got here. Thanks!

I have some personal things in my life and I provided one of my bosses with 2 weeks notice. Can they prob as to why? I don't want to give an answer. It's too personal and will this affect rehire in the future?
If you could sit down with your younger self, what career advice would you give her? I’ll go first: I would tell 21 year old me to be louder! I was so shy, and I never spoke up about anything. Looking back, if I was less shy I would have made a lot more money by being more forward.
Wondering if it’s in my head… or if other have experienced the same? Up until recently at my new job, I’ve always experienced narcissistic/misogynistic men at work who like to mansplain to me as a woman in finance. Even had one time, where a guy who was a finance major, who never took more than precalc, try to question me on my math skills in a report I had (I majored in financial engineering, where we had to take almost all math classes). Has anybody ever experienced anything like this ?
How do you get the most out of your Series 7? From feeling like you are actively using it and making a nice income. I would hate to feel like I need a career move just because the Pay isn’t where I need it to be or maybe it’s because I am in Ohio?
I recently quit my stable job with a large finance company to go to a smaller company working with a friend as I felt I wasn’t being challenged and appreciated. However, the true environment of work was misrepresented with this new role and I find myself working long hours and I’m feeling burned out with less than 6 months in. My manager is fully aware of the pressure I’m feeling. Should I hang in there and hope it gets better or start looking?
Dilemma… I left my old company 4 months ago. Today, they’ve reached out to me to ask me to come back at a higher role, Operations Manager. I would’ve jumped on this opportunity if they asked me before. However, this role would be hybrid (2x in office) and come along with more responsibilities and hours than my current WFH role which is very chill. The pay is only 15% more than I currently make. Any thoughts?
What job opportunities/positions are out there for someone who has an MLO license and two years teller experience?
I’m having major buyers remorse on my new role. On paper it aligned with my experience, now that I’m 3 months in it’s become a living hell. Part of my issue is my director (no manager or lead in between) has no time for any of us analysts all 3 of us hired within the last 6 months. It’s frustrating seeing so much criticism yet getting little to no help - and I’m pinpointing 90% of my issues here to my director who is without a doubt either on uppers, or a sociopath….continued in comments
If you're in an associate financial planner/para- planner role, would you mind sharing your annual income, bonus structure, and location. I have 12+ years of financial services experience and am a CFP, but my pay keeps dropping as I follow my "passion" - feeling a bit defeated at the moment. Thanks!
Has anyone Re-negotiated out of a non-compete? I wasn’t expecting to leave this soon (only 1.5 year into this job) and I need to find viable ways to get out of the 3 month limitation.
I had a call with a team member for a position I'm in the interview process for (soon to have a call with the recruiter). The person seemed passive aggressive during the call and hung up on me before I was able to say thank you for his time or bye. I didn't have my interview yet but I was told that this call is known to the team and the recruiter. Does it seem like I bombed the interview before even having the interview since it didn't end on a good note?
