MSFT or AWS? As Tech Pre Sales and why?
Anyone have any total earnings insight to Elavon? They mentioned a base of 70k the first year while you ramp up and a base of 50k after that. But the person in charge of hiring has said they have struggled to hire at that 50k base. Thinking I could push for 60-70k base but I am unsure about how much commission can be expected in the first couple years. Any insight would be helpful

Take the interview and if they give you an offer use it as leverage with your current company
Do you know how to identify former employees of a company on LinkedIn?
Use that feature to find former reps for that company and connect with them, ask them about what their experience was like.
That aside, one dynamic of sales that I have not seen in 20 years is that company's will ALWAYS pay a premium for outside talent, paying them more than the counterparts who were promoted from within.
Hope this helps and good luck!
You can explore the other company and see if it leads to an interview. That same message was probably delivered to hundreds of people just so you’re aware.
Seems like you would be set up for success moving into the AE role at current company.
Clarifying: move to commercial AE is not guaranteed
Did they message on LinkedIn?
I personally wouldn’t put loyalty over your own success. And in the bare metrics world of tech comp is king.
I would go with the higher comp role.
I’ve been waiting for a promotion almost this entire year. Companies seem to be slow promoting productive BDRs especially if you’re consistently exceeding quota. Some LI recruiters are hit or miss but it doesn’t hurt to speak with them to see if it’s an opportunity worth pursuing
My 2 cents: try to make the AE jump internally.
You’ve already built up a brand, a network of people who will go out of their way to help you, and you obviously have the skills with pitching this product. Those are some of the critical building blocks for succeeding as an AE.
There’s a super high failure rate as a first time AE so I’d probably consider where you’re going to feel more set up for success
If you go external to start over you’ll likely have to work twice as hard, and your success is less guaranteed (ASSUMING companies are similar quality otherwise.)
Every company is a bit messed up when you actually see the inside, so I would just do the jump if there’s something glaringly messed up about your current company. The recruiting company is also going to try to sell you on the new place so take what they say with a grain of salt
