This would be a nice interview question to test your assumptions and quant skills. You know you are comfortable when you are presented with a brand new case and can navigate it well (lay down your framework, state your assumptions, solve the math, interpret the results and reach a sound business conclusion, and present it). Most candidates practice around 10-50 cases (yes, it is a wide range). And it really depends on how comfortable you are. You have 10days until your deadline, so aim at doing 3/day in the first 5 days and assess how comfortable you are. If you are fine, then keep doing 1-2 until the interview. If not, increase pace to 5/day. Plus, try practicing a few runs with other ppl. Preferably current employees at the firms you’re applying to.

Highly dependent but on average I find people really become comfortable around 30-35 cases. And the easiest way to know you’re ready is when they feel natural and fun rather than alien

I had a final round interview last week with a PE firm and they told me they will let me know of their decision by this week but haven’t heard back yet. Would it be okay for me to send a follow up email asking about the status? I normally wouldn’t rush it but I also got into an M7 MBA program and need to make my deposit soon. Should I mention that to them in the email?

26M making $155k base and about $185k TC at a large payments firm (Visa, MC, AmEx). I’m also 1 year away from promo which will probably get me to $210-220k TC. Do you think I still need an MBA? A lot of senior leaders in my team have 1 so I’m really not sure at this point. The opportunity costs are high, but I’m well aware of the long term benefits. I’ve also already taken the GMAT and gotten a 740. I’m an Asian male and find the hurdles that we go through for admissions a turn off as well.

I am looking to gain certification or other credentialing in diversity and inclusion, not only because it would look good on my resume both for future job-search purposes and also to become better educated in this area, which is growing in importance. I looked at SHRM's "Inclusive Workplace Culture Specialty Credential" and got a bit of "sticker shock" at the cost - $1,655.00 for members. Does anyone have other suggestions on training/credentialing in this area?

I've been working towards a T10 mba since before I graduated from undergrad. Hustled at work to get early promotions and the best projects. This allowed me to go from $60k to $115k TC at 1 YOE. Having 7 YOE to only make 65k with an MBA is the most stressful thing for me, especially at a Big 4. I’ve been trying to get into tech and the recruiters would reach out then are nowhere to be found. I’ve been wanting some assistance but feel like I’m talking to the wrong people.
