Currently an MBA student at M7, and already have a PhD in ChemEng. No prior consulting background. What would be good firms to target and any preferred ones for good work life balance?

Forbes article that said one of the top hiring firms of MBA graduates which cost $168k is Deloitte. I was asked to interview for an experience hire job but never went to a top school. Is it worth it?

Wife’s firm just announced a staggered 5% to 10% salary cut for 3 mths starting 5/1. < 60k,0% cut, 60k-75k is 5%, 75k-100k is 6%, 100k-250k is 8% & so on. Would you prefer this rather than lay offs?

Managing 2 analysts - noticed their teams status is routinely away for 2-3 hours at a time. Responsive within 5-10 mins of ping and always get their work done albeit sometimes late at night. Is this a problem?
