It’s not bad at all. I only know one CTL for my entire 2 years here. You are only asked to leave if you are not coachable and the bar for new analyst/associate is actually really low. I joined McK from Deloitte and they are pleasantly surprised that I know how to do consulting work… like, what?
Same here.
Joined as AC from another firm and got really good reviews because of basic knowledge I earned previously.
It’ll be worth it. Unless recession comes most ppl stay till manager-equivalent. Exit ops will be much better
Rising Star
Hardest level for B4/T2 laterals is at PL where it truly is sink or swim with what seems like no internal support (at least that’s what I’ve heard from first hand accounts).
If you can thrive at B4 and passed the interviews you’ll find yourself in a great situation to thrive at MBB, congrats!
As someone who exited from B4 (the “strategy arm”) to industry, I would say take the MBB offer. The exit opportunities, the brand awareness, and the network that MBB offers is at a totally different level. Up or out should not be that big a deal as long as you are willing to put in the effort and learn.

Very uncommon for us. More common is you burn out and/or get a better opp to leave.
Wouldn’t worry about it at all!
Scared money don’t make no money. You got this!
I actually don’t know anyone who has been CRL’ed if they don’t want to be. Most people burn out before they are fired or they have an awesome job lined up afterwards.
If you’re a hard worker, take feedback, improve, and nice, you will make it
Did you have to go through case interviewing? If so, how did you prepare? Hoping to follow the same path as you!
