Currently at an M7 MBA with Healthcare Consulting experience - is there a chance I can break into lower to middle market VCs or PEs without going through IB? Any suggestions on how I can make it happen

There is definitely a non-zero chance, but it will be difficult.

Yes, you can make the transition - know plenty who went along this route. Work on improving your financial modeling and valuation skill-sets. With focus on those functional areas of expertise, it can help with any case based interview or panel questions VC/PE firms throw at you.

3 years ago I asked for a compensation review/raise, went through what felt like a ridiculous 8 MONTH long process of defending why it was warranted, only to be told no. 3 months ago I asked again and it has gone nowhere. I should add that salary bands are kept secret and I have no clue what the range for my position is. There are a decent amount of benefits in my position, the biggest being WLB, which is what has kept me here for so long. But I’m getting frustrated. What would you do?

I keep getting contract offers on LinkedIn (think self-employed consultant). The rates seem really good ($120-$150/hr). I have around 5 years exp and a CISSP. I’m highly considering leaving big4 to become a contractor/self-employed consultant. From a risk perspective I’m young and have no kids and low debt.
Anyone did it? Any feedback?

I primarily took this role hoping to get exposure to providing SaaS services as company is transitioning at software cloud. My long term goal is to move into tech as my current customers are mostly in O&G. Is customer success a good entry point go get into one for the big tech companies?

Better to take a small pay cut (10k) to work with people I know mesh well together at a smaller start up, or stay on at a larger company with higher pay but a team that has absolutely no camaraderie and struggles to work together on the daily? Been denied a team transfer twice in 2 years, and I feel trapped, but this isn't a great time to be transitioning to a less stable position. Thoughts on what I should do?

Do you think using “him/her” for “he/she” (ex: “her is playing” “him not here yet”) is something that kids usually grow out of? Or does it need direct intervention? I have 2 students who exhibit this error, who otherwise should be dismissed. Normally I’d just keep them on and work on it alongside other goals, but they don’t have any other goals, and with COVID, and my upcoming maternity leave in March, a more compact caseload would be advantageous.

Hiya Guys, so I can tell I am burned out and inching into the grey pit of complacency. The burn out is already here, but the slide into grey-pit is not acceptable. I have a masters in business admin, 8+yrs of hospitality management experience, and a bachelors in science.

I really need advice/strategy for skill development, despite burn out and the weakened motivation. I am in a role that can, (in 2+ yrs), make me eligible to start at entry-level position in an area I want. I don't have 2 yrs.
