I think men look cool in formal ;) of course ironed and well tailored
I look bad ass in a blazer jacket.. it’s not just men that look cool, my friend.
Suck it up and wear what is appropriate for the client, go to a tailor and make sure it fits right then focus on blouses and accessories for style.
@IBM1, the only useful advise from your post is about accessories. My post is about - to be professional vs. to check all the boxes to seem professional. I don't believe that suits make us better at what we do. But I believe that looking good and wearing what we love (it might be a stylish pair of jeans with a nice blazer for example) boosts our confidence and overall brings more joy to our work life and makes us look more "human". Therefore, having that kind of dresscode at least on Fridays would have been nice. I am sucking it up here and at every other client, but this approach seems very outdated to me and makes the environment look hostile.
Nasty... not ironed, stained. But nice jeans on Fridays are prohibited... also, there is almost no diversity and millennials. I want to see a day, when it all changes.. just renting.😔
