Currently coming up on my first year in EY FSO WAM. Thinking about trying to get into the advisory service line AAS/CMAAS, FAAS would take to long I was told. What are thoughts? Should I wait or just send it?

In all seriousness, internal transfers are the worst. They take too long, if they happen at all. Way to much politics involved within the whole thing. It’s easier, faster and usually comes with more money if you get an external offer. I had a similar experience to you so feel free to DM if you want more info.

If it’s what you want, start having conversations! Network with those in the group you are considering, talk with your partner and counseling family partner to try to get support for a rotation or full on transfer. While there are internal politics, I just completed a transfer that took less than a month to get all of the approvals. It’s possible.

Ex-Consulant here that now works for a big name Real Estate Investment Trust. Saw on LinkedIn that EY has an America’s REIT Leader. Didn’t know that much attention was paid to the REIT space. Are there really consulting teams dedicated to the REIT space in the Big 4? Love working for a REIT and would love to jump back to consulting if there were teams dedicated to the industry.
