Has your boss ever forgotten to pay your commission? Happened to me today. Actually to our entire sales team. Advice for how to respond?
Ive been working as medical assistant for the past 3 years with a bachelors degree making about 46k/yr currently. Im starting my nursing program next April but was offered a job as a customer success manager with a healthcare technology company making 65k/yr. Although this new role doesn’t exactly align with my nursing route, the money is something I could really use right now. Thoughts/suggestions?

Anyone else feel more disconnected from the younger people after mid 40s? I understood their plight, knew the lingo, knew what kind of in-person gatherings would be fun, etc. All of a sudden I feel like I have no idea how to connect. I want them to get off my lawn and I’ve never felt that way before. Just looking for an ear.

Hi! Have a question that would be super helpful to get some advice on!
Are employees that drug test concerned about weed/THC? One job I have an offer for required a hair follicle test and I’ve used edible a few times of the past couple moths to help with sleep (not a regular user though.) It’s also legal where I currently live, though not in the state where the new job would be.
Any insight would be much appreciated, as I’m freaking out about this at the moment 😬
We need to appreciate what we have in this country.
Had an Uber driver from Congo and he reiterated how people don’t understand how much we have in this country and how grateful he is just to be here driving Uber’s.
He sends money back to his mom, wishing he could bring her over everyday. Needless to say I left him a massive tip. Grateful to live in such a great place

There was an October promotion freeze so I wasn't promoted to Senior and have no motivation to work. I'm interviewing with several companies and have money in the bank so I'm tempted to just put in my two weeks. Any motivation tips or advice?
Soo what if I audited the company my brother works for, but didn't realize he worked there until after the audit was already over. For context, for the life of me I could never remember the name of the place he worked, and then my mom said it today and well.... it all clicked.
Hi I need in-charging advice! Ive been on an engagement where my staff just informs me when he's done for the day and tells me he's leaving rather than asking. He always gets in an hour-30 min CONT
Is it normal for Managers have to take on roles both as a Senior and a Manger at the same time due to shortage in PA. Im at a midtier and a lot of my jobs don’t have Seniors and Partners don’t want to delay these jobs.
Financial statement tie-out. Always thought this was a procedure done by Audit. Seeing more and more teams requiring management do it and IA test tie out as a control. What did I miss here? Thanks
Is it ok to resign in the middle of busy season? I switched to BDO as a senior in summer of 2021 and this is going to be my 1st busy season with them (3rd in total) but I'm dreading it.
Anyone else just hoping to fly under the radar this busy season? I’m planning on not staying online any later than 11 because “we’re not saving any lives here”.
I have a colleague who is unvaccinated and tested positive for COVID (he text me to let me know). He lied to the firm about his vaccination status since late last year and he went to the office on Tuesday before he found out on Wednesday that he was tested positive. We were all in the conference room together so, I’m exposed to it as well. He refused to notify the firm about his COVID status and putting all those whom he had come in contact at risk. What should I do?

How bad do you have to be to not be promoted to senior? I feel like I’ve been learning a lot and getting work done but I still feel worried I might not be promoted come June. Any suggestions that helped you get some comfort that you were in a good spot?

Would I be able to work as a part-time employee in audit throughout the time I am in school at PwC ? I have received and accepted an offer for S/F 2023 after i graduate.
Does anyone else have intense imposter syndrome and believe they’ll never move on from entry level positions? I’m trying to apply for new jobs and I have enough years of experience to qualify for a senior position but I’m scared to make that jump.
I’m an experienced staff getting ready for my second busy season. I’ve really only done detailed testing so far and I don’t feel confident about how much I’ve learned. Is this pretty normal?
I have four years of audit experience and jumping firms to get a manager title because I can. Even if I do get a manager role, I feel like I might not be ready yet. I have done many audits from beginning to finish by myself, but there will be area I am not completely comfortable. Were you very ready when you were promoted to manager? Or did you just fake it until you make it? What is expected as a manager? I incharged and worked with partners to issue jobs directly because my jobs were small.
Hi. A bit new to audit and have a question on a report's opinion.
I came across a somewhat old auditor report (from a very small auditing firm) that listed several instances where employees misappropriated assets within its schedule of findings, yet the opinion was unmodified. Is this fine? I would think it'd affect the opinion not knowing everything that was misappropriated. Could it be that the auditor felt comfortable enough on how much they identified and that lowered the risk?
😭😭 when you ponder why you got into audit after working from 7 am to 10 pm on a Sunday. If we needed to work this much, wouldn’t it be better to go into investment banking, where they pay is better?

Wth is a field leader?
It is my first audit job. Being that’s it’s my FIRST audit job, I have questions for my field leader and with every question I asked, he made me feel like I could not ask questions. It got to the point where I messaged someone else from my office for questions. Now that the job is done, I feel like I did a bad job because of how he is and worried about a bad review from him.
Do y’all not say staff/senior/manager? Never heard someone refer to their boss as an audit leader. But, anyways, yeah unfortunately theres a lot of shit head seniors out there like that. Like all that you can from anyone you can and then strive to be a better teacher than them
Why is there this assumption that people at smaller firms are more “hands on” than at larger firms? I have been at PwC 5 years and have never been on an engagement team where we just looked at one area. I know this happens on really large teams, but not every team. And any of the larger teams I’m on, we make sure people are rotating to make sure they are getting exposure to different areas.
I agree..that specialization is more for like F200 clients. Slightly smaller public jobs still give plenty of exposure typically
And it’s my first job, I am making small mistakes
Do you want a trophy?
