I have a colleague who is unvaccinated and tested positive for COVID (he text me to let me know). He lied to the firm about his vaccination status since late last year and he went to the office on Tuesday before he found out on Wednesday that he was tested positive. We were all in the conference room together so, I’m exposed to it as well. He refused to notify the firm about his COVID status and putting all those whom he had come in contact at risk. I have four years of audit experience and jumping firms to get a manager title because I can. Even if I do get a manager role, I feel like I might not be ready yet. I have done many audits from beginning to finish by myself, but there will be area I am not completely comfortable. Were you very ready when you were promoted to manager? Or did you just fake it until you make it? What is expected as a manager? I incharged and worked with partners to issue jobs directly because my jobs were small.

Hi. A bit new to audit and have a question on a report's opinion.
I came across a somewhat old auditor report (from a very small auditing firm) that listed several instances where employees misappropriated assets within its schedule of findings, yet the opinion was unmodified. Is this fine? I would think it'd affect the opinion not knowing everything that was misappropriated. Could it be that the auditor felt comfortable enough on how much they identified and that lowered the risk?

😭😭 when you ponder why you got into audit after working from 7 am to 10 pm on a Sunday. If we needed to work this much, wouldn’t it be better to go into investment banking, where they pay is better?
