Currently have gold on both United and American. Tempted to split next year's flights between the two and keep status on both. Brilliant or terrible idea?

Terrible. Gold status is nothing. Stick to one and gain better benefits.

like

Do a status challenge for each. Do the math first to make sure you can meet requirement for each before registering. You should be able to raise status in both if you start in January.

like

What are the better benefits that are so worth it? OP I'm of he opinion that diversifying is better. More options for leisure travel, and I'd rather have more/better options for leisure travel flight times in economy plus than just chances for first upgrades. Plus for international legs you're not going to get a free first upgrade anyway since people actually pay for those

like

Pick one. Gives you higher points per dollar multiplier and gold on a busy travel day is nearly worthless for perks, anyway

like

So I'd love to get the better ppd, but I fly out of hubs so I'll never get upgraded, and splitting gives me an extra 3-4 hours at home every week

like

You are more likely to get a free upgrade with higher status, but I place a premium on being in an early boarding group, so I vote for splitting.

like

I'd consolidate to one since AA adds the dollar spend threshold next year and will go from three to four tiers for status. Your gold on AA is the equivalent of silver on United. In Chicago, I find sticking to one to be easier. I don't always get upgraded as an EP, but I do get exit rows when not upgraded. I also want the status for when stuff goes wrong. They're more willing to move a high tiered flyer around than a lower tiered one.

like

Feel like they'd be willing to match?

Added context: I fly 4 legs every week, so I'm hoping I can still get status over gold next year with the splitting.

Hi everyone,
So I’ve always had a rough time trying to find what role titles I would be a good fit to apply to given that my career growth has been so peculiar (HR assistant at hotel, Operations Manager at hotel, seller support at Amazon, customer experience coordinator at an IT company, talent acquisition specialist at a health org)
In those roles I normally took more in my plate than the typical role requires (hr functions, data analysis, etc)
With 6-7 years if exp what role should I look?

My BF of 3 yrs is everything I dreamed of. But, we are very different. I love to travel, date nights, etc. but he rather stay home & not spend a dime. It’s gotten to a point where I am the only one planning things & when we I tell him the plans, he doesn’t care to do it. Once we are out on a date night, he makes it miserable by complaining & wanting to go home. I don’t see myself being with someone who hated doing these things. It has caused major issue. I don’t want to settle..& want to end it.

Scenario: You wrote a report with all the analysis and addressed your manager's comments. But your M brings in an undergrad intern to comment / edit your report, and the intern proceeds to essentially rewrite the thing, causing it to miss some key requirements.

I'm reading the situation as the M wanting to include the intern regardless of his/her contributions/qualifications. But this isn't making the report better or addressing the M's needs for the report. It's just creating more work...
