If no one around you has a complex tax situation, there is really no point. You’d just be charging them for something any tax app could do

A simple tax return is easy for us to do, however incredibly difficult for the average person who knows nothing about taxes and is scared of math. You are not ripping them off, they are paying you for a service you are providing. You do you OP. Ive used turbo tax in the past if that helps.

You should look into firm policy. It would surprise me if there weren’t restrictions on you signing a tax return as a preparer.

I’d look super closely at your contract. Moonlighting is generally a pretty big No No, even if it’s in a different field. I’ve heard tell on FB that someone got fired for working at GAP during off season 🤣 It’s not worth it, you don’t know anything, the above analysis is correct that you shouldn’t be filing these people’s taxes. Just direct them to TurboTax if they’re looking to save money.

That said, if you’re running like an Etsy shop or something in that arena that’s still probably prohibited but I don’t think anyone would really care or find out.
