Your case load will make you run…………..
Yeah and going into PI (for the large majority) will only increase it. I do Insurance Defense and ours is high, but we have a great team to be able to ensure each paralegal is given roughly the same amount. When it comes to PI, I tried it for a while with the number one PI attorneys in TEXAS and I was just given more and more as time went on and it becomes so stressful that you don’t even enjoy the job. BUT, this may be a different firm, if it’s larger, and you can ask what the general case load per paralegal is. Then you’ll have your answer.
Would agree with A1. Assume lower base, with very little visibility into all-in comp. If base comp is important then it probably isn't the right route, but can't speak to exact numbers in this scenario
Do not assume that the plaintiff firm has a commission setup. There are plaintiff firms out there that give you a high base and a small bonus at the end of the year and that’s it; no percentage on settlements. Be sure to ask about this
Likely the base salary is somewhere between 70-150k annually depending on years of experience. Commission is usually based off of settlements. For example, 3% of gross settlements, paid monthly.
