Currently in M&A tax. I do a lot of cross-functional PMO work and I’m looking to leave and get my MBA due to reduced earning potential from COVID & I’ve seen the work Dev. Ops / management does and I’m a lot more interested in that than in tax. 2.5years at uncle D, no CPA(halfway done). Should I finish out the CPA and apply for MBA later? Should I just try and get into dev ops without an mba/CPA? Or is my earning potential a lot less without it?

DevOps as in IT DevOps? Seems like a big jump from tax... do you have an IT background?

like

I think that line of work will still value the CPA. Also, I doubt you'll look back in a few years and wish you didn't have your CPA. It'll open more doors and honestly can't hurt. Go for MBA afterwards you're golden.

like

Not IT dev ops. Business development operations. As in M&A/and growth strategy.

Ah gotcha, this makes more sense lol

CPA is a license to prove to schools that you are solid on the analytical side. I would finish my CPA before applying for MBA programs

I’m in a rather peculiar situation. I have been in the HR field going on 4 years, I have over 11 years of management experience, I got my PHR last year and I recently graduated with my MBA with a concentration in HR this month. I am ready for a more challenging role. However, there doesn’t seem to be much available at my current company. However, I am going on 5 months pregnant with the expectation of being out in October. I feel like once I mentioned my pregnancy I was in a holding pattern.

Im currently studying Industrial Engineering with a minor in management. I’m interviewing currently for consulting, and theres a VC course at my school that seems really interesting but I can’t fit it into my schedule without removing the last class I need for my minor. Would not getting that minor do any harm to me short or long term? Im thinking that if I end up at consulting especially no one will care about a management minor they’ll just look at the firm I worked for.

However, team head wanted to make sure that I don't underestimate the step-up it'll require on my end and that it'll be very intense. Any thoughts? Many thanks in advance!

Do internships count towards years of experience? I held my first design internship in 12th grade (2016), and have since held at least one internship per semester throughout college, all related to my career path - but they were all part time. In my last semester of college (May 2020 grad), I worked as a full time contractor for 18mos. I freelanced after, before working as an FTE the past year.

When asked how many years of experience I have, how should I answer?

Thanks in advance!
