Currently in my 3rd Year finance major. Been wondering about the prospect of joining Investment banking and Wealth management. Do bigger banks offer better comp than funds? What are the best ways to boost my chances to join either?

Bigger banks don’t necessarily pay more. EBs and some MM will pay more than most bulge brackets, and it’s usually all cash. But I’m not sure if I’d optimize for highest comp since a number of the best paying shops will make you work for it
When you say funds, are you referring to PE? IB in general will pay more cash comp vs. comparable PE, but PE has much better long term economics than IB due to carry and coinvest. Wealth management makes much less than both

Currently working as an estimator for Progressive. I work from home 100% of the time from the Boston area. I am looking for any in-site into other work from home insurance jobs. I am still in shock but I made my own exit opportunity >1 YOE. I had ~a paycheck on Gamestop at $6/share as I’d browsed WSB for some time already. I sold yesterday as I had a gut feeling the growth wasn’t sustainable and profits were too tempting. Noticed messages on Stocktwits for Doge Coin were 🆙 7000% today around noon, so I took a % of my winnings and placed it there. I exited about 2 hours ago. Thinking of throwing all in ETFs and working as a musician for fun

Anyone have bad experiences with in-house recruiters willing to share? I've been interviewing for an in-house gig, and the company's recruiter has been leading me on and blowing their own deadlines. Is this just (1) par for the course, (2) a bad recruiter, or (3) a red flag for the company in general?

I work in accounting/finance and have been at my company for over 10 years. I am planning to leave and put in my notice right after I receive my bonus which is right around when “busy season” starts. Unfortunately more than half of my annual income comes from my bonus. I feel terrible about this because it will cause my team to work extra hours during a busy time, but the company is toxic. Any tips? I don’t want to burn bridges with the non-toxic folks.
