Currently interviewing with a couple startups, one late stage and one emerging. Comp is roughly the same give or take 5%. Early stage is leadership role for a new division, late stage is senior associate. What are some things to consider with evaluating the offers and organizations themselves?

Also where are you coming from & is it worth it to take the risk?

Big D, both of them have a solid pipeline (emerging software consulting startup, contracts in hand through 2023) or PE funding (late stage, secured through 2024 with expectation of 400% revenue growth)

Is this consultant role you’re currently in entry level? Personally I would probably take the late stage startup role as an emerging company can go to shit quickly but there are some other elements I would evaluate:
- what product/service does the early stage company have
- what kind of funding does the early stage company have? How’s the CEO?
- who would you report to? How do you think you’d get along with that person?

The leadership role for a new division could be a lot of fun (a lot of work) but things could go awry quickly too. I would just prepare for a potential pivot if things go kaboom.

Lots of talk about CohnReznick on here lately… let’s address a few points.

1) Yes, our salaries are in line with B4. Happy to discuss specifics with the skeptics.
2) We are one of the few firms still actively hiring people without FDD experience.
3) Our WLB is miles better than B4.
4) Yes, we are paying strong referral bonuses because our practice has literally doubled in the past year.
5) All of the above is due to a strong pipeline and significant growth within the practice.

What's the current hourly & weekly rate for freelance for a mid-senior level Business Affairs Manager?

Moving on from Hotels (Hospitality)?

I’ve been thinking about this for awhile now, but it is very to commit to actually accept a new job offer since I really do love my job. My only complaint is, the pay vs workload is very small. I’m a manager now and my property offered me a director position… but the salary is still low! To make six figures, it’ll take another 5-6 years to grind it out.

Should I move on and go to a different industry? Opinions are welcome! Thanks in advance.

Anyone a manager? I’m recently diagnosed (26F) and I can’t help but beat myself up everytime I fall short of my to do list. Makes me feel like a huge disservice to my team. I’ve been trying vitamin D and working out, but it makes my “highs” and “low” SO extreme. The simplest things are so complex in my mind.

If anyone feels similar, how do you manage these feelings? I’m personally considering switching to an individual contributor role, but can’t help but feel like a disappointment if I do.

Hello,

Currently, in accenture. I have had very bad billable hours and not much achievement this fiscal year. I am worried of getting fired, so i applied for another job. Got offered may be 5% above my current pay with 5k bonus, but in lower level at Deloitte. I think working lower level will give me more opportunities to learn as i think i have lot to learn. I made decision based on my gut and accepted the offer. I have not talked to anyone on accenture side yet. What you think?

One of the reasons I want to transition from industry to consulting (tier 1) is that I get frustrated when I have to collaborate with mediocre people. My assumption is that Tier 1 consulting firms hire really sharp people and if I can get in, I’ll be collaborating with folks on top of their game (not expecting much from clients). I’m aware there are personal aspects I need to work on like my mindset, patience etc etc, but I just get so frustrated with blatant stupidity.
