Currently interviewing with AWS and they don’t offer a salary range in the job app. What’s a good base for an incoming analyst with 5 years of experience? I’m thinking $110k.

Hello fishes,

I have received a job offer and gave them my expected salary to which the hr told it was above their budget. (Did a proper research and quoted them the range)

They gave me an offer with a difference of 1 to 1.5 lakh from what I had asked.

Any tips whether should I go with the offer they gave or still negotiate?

If negotiate kindly provide some tips.

TIA

Hi all. Recently went through the interview process at Google for an L5 non tech strategy role. Made it to final on-site interviews, but just got the email from the recruiter saying they’re passing due to “other candidates that were a stronger match”. I asked the recruiter to have a quick chat to close the loop. Anyone have any experience with this? I genuinely want to know areas I could improve/ask for overall feedback but also keep the door open for a future Google attempt.

I’ve been interviewing at 2 companies & I got an offer today from 1 & I have an interview with the other on Friday. I think the 2nd company will have higher pay & it’s a better role. I want to keep both options open but I know that the 1st company is trying to get someone started quickly & I don’t want to lose the offer just in case the other falls through. Would it be ok to ask the 2nd company to move my interview up or should I just leave it & hold on accepting the 1st offer?

I have covid symptoms and I'm waiting to get tested. While I'm trying my best to isolate from the rest of the family at home, my toddler is just so dependent on me for everything. Bedtime more than anything. We bed share right now and I'm trying to sleep in another room but there's a lot of crying if I don't go to her.

Anyone faced a similar situation? How do I protect my toddler and husband from getting covid (assuming I have it)? I am keeping my mask on at all times (except sleep) at home.

Thoughts on the federal government’s direct hiring authority? I think it’s counterproductive and potentially unethical. Deciding between 2 job offers in DC & would love some advice! Background- Masters in my field, 2.5 years of full-time experience. Job A is a large company, well-known, great benefits, consulting (no past consulting experience). Job B is small nonprofit, interned there before, would have more autonomy in role but basically no benefits package (liberal leave, no 401k match, no signing bonus). Trying to decide which is best as a career move, salary is comparable for both, TIA!!!
