Currently live in a bedroom with the only fire escape for the apt. Do I 1 break the rules and get a window AC unit anyways or 2 does anyone have any amazing fan recommendations?

Have you looked into portable ac units? The hoses clips to the window. It’s a good alternative for people who can hang a window unit. I wouldn’t put a window unit on a fire escape window because its real easy to break in.

I just bought a portable unit that works pretty well. Got it on Amazon: JHS 10,000 BTU Smart Portable Air Conditioner Wi-Fi, 3-in-1 Floor AC Unit with 2 Fan Speeds, Remote Control and Digital LED Display, Cover up to 300 Sq. Ft. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07BQMB4BR/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_Mli8CbSAH3K91

helpful

You can make it bigger or smaller

Just buy the unit nobody will care

Hello fellow HR pros! I really need your opinions on HR certifications. I am deciding between PHR and SHRM-cp. I have read just about all there is online comparing the two and can not decide. My heart is telling me PHR, my mother in law (an HRBP) is telling me to go with SHRM, as it’s more widely recognized, more established and a larger network in general. I work for a 350~ company who is growing rapidly through M&A. Passions/interests are compliance, strategic vision, M&A, branding and culture

Ok. So I have a Speedmaster Mk ii that I LOVE, but I noticed last week that the chrono hand is stuck at about a half second off zero. It’s a bit outside of warranty, and Omega said I’d need to send it in and wait 8-10 weeks just to receive an estimate for a cost and time to fix it. I’ve only worn it maybe 30 times since buying it. I’m considering:
1. Bite the bullet and send it to Omega.
2. Ask a local luxury watch repair shop to do it.
3. Do nothing since it works fine otherwise.
Thoughts?

I had a burglary in my apartment. Didn’t take any electronics (from what we can see) but probably took check books and small jewelry. It also appears they were interested in my jewelry box since they dumped the contents of my box on the floor and the contents of my closet. Most of my designer bags seem to be there. What should we do besides call the police and launch a building investigation ?

Currently interning in a MCOL city but want to move to NYC right after graduating college one year from now. However, the partner recommends I stay in current city for 1-2 years before moving/transferring offices. When did you move to NYC? If I waited a year or two would the difference be pretty marginal compared to moving right after college? Any and all advice is greatly appreciated!

Current dilemma - planning to move in with bf but not sure if we should:

A) move into his current place (hes lived there for 3 years, location is amazing and the rent didnt go up by a crazy amt)
B) look for a new place
C) airbnb hop for a bit and try out different neighborhoods

His current place is great and checks most of the boxes but the thought of starting fresh sounds nice. Cant decide if its worth losing out on a decent place in this economy 😕

Lived in Manhattan straight out of college for five yes before heading to grad school in the Midwest. Went from a Midwest city to a small town. while I miss nyc, I’ve really gotten settled into my sleepy town life amongst some very beautiful nature. Everything is easy - getting groceries, affording the bills. my SO just got a job offer that will put us back in nyc. Mixed feelings about this especially as we’re now early 30s and looking to start a family. Anyone experience leaving and coming back?
