Is an MBA really worth it for a career pivot?
Hi Applied to PwC Strategy& for a consultant role and havent heard back from a recuiter however, I received an email for a survey asking what am I looking for in the company in terms of their culture, values etc and what other companies I have applied to. Is this a typical process? Not sure if thats the step 1 in the process or I have been rejected. Any feed back is appreciated. I am graduating from Ohio State with an MBA and have 8 years of experience in corporate accounting and finance.

Marsh & McLennan I am moving 2 hours from my office. My manager says i have to come 2 days to office. When i come to the office its only me and couple of other people. No one seems to care about coming to office. When i asked manager if i can work remote i was told that its for my career development. Can you guys tell in Canada which companies are offering remote opportunities?

Strategy& participates in the PwC MBA sponsorship program known as the consulting solutions scholars program. Strategy& typically has the greatest number of participants.
However, receiving the sponsorship typically requires multiple years of track record at the firm, demonstrated history of strong performance, and demonstration of reinvestment in the firm and the community. Part of the process is getting several recommendations from partners in your practice.
PwC does also have some tuition reimbursement programs that can help to defray the cost of an MBA, but those are much more simple and available to pretty much anyone.
Yes, we still have the program. The 2022 cycle just wrapped up recently. It was in PwC News. Not sure about a web page. Your HR business partner should have details.

At your level, no, we wouldn’t
Per my other comments, I am talking about the Consulting Scholars program, which is the firm’s MBA tuition sponsorship program. What are you talking about S&1?

Accenture is a different tier than S&. What are your career goals?
In the short term, I’d like to get an MBA to further my career in consulting. In the long term, I’d like to work in the startup or VC space.
Accenture Strategy has a scholars program which will sponsor your MBA. Not for regular consulting though. Not sure which part of Accenture you’re applying to, but assume if you are looking at S& you’d be looking at ACN strat.
Yes, I am looking only at ACN strat. Would the scholars program also apply to experienced hires?
Does Strategy& interview without an MBA? It seemed like a requirement for the positions I interviewed for. Accenture really doesn’t care about MBAs. I tried when I was a consultant there and it was a straight no.
Interesting!
