Planning to take the CIPP and CIPM. Will be doing self-study. What is the “book” everyone refers to for studying? Is it just the “study guide” the IAPP sells? Does anyone know if the study guides and sample questions you can buy on amazon are sufficient to use for passing? Appreciate any and all advice.

I have limited privacy experience despite being hired for that reason… Have my CIPM and CIPP/US /E and /C. Remote preferred; hubs is pilot with cool intl transfer opportunities. Money isn’t issue.

What are the best data privacy certs to aim for? 4 year exp in cyber risk consulting. Want to move to a privacy related role outside the big 4. Should I go for the CDPSE or CIPP or CIPM?

Hi all! I’m inclined on taking up the CIPM training and certification exam. I’m already a certified Data Protection Officer in the Philippines. I intend on skipping CIPP as it applies to the US and EU.

How difficult was the exam? Can you share your experience studying for the CIPM exam? Is it advisable to skip CIPP?

Hi everyone, my new employer filed a h1b transfer for me. However, after reviewing submitted packets, I found some error. Would these make an issue?

1. I-94 end date: they put 3 days later than the date on the document (I-94 is attached to the packet)
2. J-1: I was on J-1 4 years ago before coming as F-1 but they said N/A on the question if I ever had J-1. (Section 212(e) does not apply so technically no legal issue. They still attached my previous DS-2019 in the packet)

I've heard some arguments in favor of not disclosing, and there is a certain degree of logic behind some of them, but I'm wondering what those arguments at your companies, and if it's something you feel is warranted or not.

Hi everyone! First time poster who is feeling a bit lost. I was with an RPO in the sourcing department, which has recently folded. I would love to stay RPO and ideally full cycle, but technically have only about 9 months exp, though I had years of high profile public relations and event planning experience before becoming a stay at home parent 10 years ago. Any recommendations for an RPO that would take a chance on someone like me? Mix of overqualified, but also very under qualified?

As I think about looking for a new job outside of recruitment, how do you reconcile leaving commission behind? I make 50k base but over 6 figs in commission within my first year, and I WFH. I’m still “early” career with only recruitment and admin work history, and it appears that any job I’d qualify for is realistically 45-70k.

*I’ll stay for the money, but I’m wondering if it’s worth it in face of the lack of management, their disciplinarian mindset, and the non-stop stress from it all.
