I’ve had promotions/raises held back because of long term orders. I don’t mind as I was on long term orders and wasn’t producing anything for the company. (Plus I volunteered for these orders)
Didnt expect a bonus or a raise if I was gone for the whole year I was evaluated (in honestly I made out with the diff pay) I had had six month orders in the past and they would base my performance on the six months I was there
I’ve lived this life and it’s unfortunately a tradeoff you make of serving. Consultancies will guarantee your differential pay and benefits on leave but not much else in terms of career trajectory
3 months seems reasonable and good to hear. I couldn’t imagine the same for 6-12 months
At Accenture the policy is that you'll be assessed on any productive time prior to deployment /mobilization. I just made sure to convey my performance cycle talking points to my advocate and made very clear that I was going for a "continue progressing" talent decision.
I had a 12 month MLOA a few years ago. I got differential pay (between consulting base pay and military base pay), full benefits, and a pro-rated bonus for the time I was not on LOA. No tenure credit though so in that sense I fell behind my peer cohort / start class
Very hard to get advocacy for non-performing period. I’m planning on making a jump after LOA to keep up.
You really should be consulting your HR/military rep in parallel to a USERRA rep to get the lay of the land. I would also consult your company’s policies as they may have some caveats
