Hi all, my sponsorship application (by wife whose also in Dubai) was received by the immigration in Canada in Oct 2018. It has been four yrs and I havent heard anything. My online portal says "We are processing your application. We will send you a message when there is an update or of we need more information from you".

Has anyone else experienced similar wait times? Any way this can be expedited? Keen to hear thoughts /similar experiences.

I have given my interview in HCL and cleared 1 TP, 1 hcl manager & Client TP and Client Manager rounds .
In initial screening HR told the generic statement of 30-40% and I have given my ask as 50% minimum. After clearing the rounds I heard from the project team that Client has given great feedback and wanted to take me in .
What is the % I can ask in HR Discussion and will they reject in HR if I ask more now .
I have 9.5 years total experience and role is Storage Architect.

I have been applied to citi for SRE+ops Role i have been interviewed for the onsite role for singapore..As per the singapore guidelines my is not supporting there.

So Manager/Lead tried for india offshore role first, but budget issue for new role opening for now not possible.

I had an interview today and interviewer asked me if I had an offer and I said yes then she asked why are you not accepting that. And I said that as it is a startup and earlier I worked on a startup and it went down so there is no job security and the second thing I added was that they are offering less than my expectations.

Hi, I am on H1B and partipated in an online survey (a few of them last year). I only get to redeem the points for gift cards (no cash transactions) but once the overall redemption crossed $600 previous year, I was asked for ssn to issue a 1099-MISC form (I did confirm with the company). But now I got a 1099-NEC form (non employee compensation) which I believe should not be getting on h1b as it is considered as self employment. Any ideas on how to deal with this?

US immigration question. Green card interview date was cancelled in March 2020. It’s been a whole year of just waiting for a reschedule date, so the I-485 is transferable (e.g. to another state, another employer). Has anyone transferred their i-485 to another employer? What was that process like? Would my process start from the interview phase? How did you prove that the next job was in the same category? Please mention if you did the process before or during the pandemic. Thanks so much.

Green Card via employer - Should I bring up previous unauthorized work?

Hi folks, my employer is kicking off my green card process. I am currently in the beginning, filling out employment questionnaires, and working in the paperwork necessary to initiate the petition.

However, during my F-1 years, I engaged in unauthorized work for a small advertising agency.

Is it a requirement to bring up that period within the forms, or should I omit to facilitate the process and to avoid any surprises?
