I recently shifted my career from data analytics to strategy and feel very passionate about this field. I would love to continue growing down this path, but I’m uncertain of what next steps are, specially to continue working in tech. Would love to hear what your career path has been and if you feel like an MBA is needed in order to keep growing. Thanks!
If coming from consulting, how many years of work experience is needed to not have it be a liability in MBA apps?
Is getting CFE worth it? I’ve failed the 3 different sections of the CPA and I am giving up. But I would like some kind of certification to look a tad more marketable. Thoughts?
Is it worth trying to move now to a firm willing to sponsor an MBA? Currently at a firm that wouldn’t, but know I want to go back to school in a few years and maybe stay in consulting post MBA
Thoughts on JD/MBA?’
I'm a senior finance major planning to take the CISA instead of the CFA/CPA so I can get to manager. What are the best CISA prep programs/books for a non-IT major?
Does EY provide MBA tuition reimbursement? If so is it a specific department, division, etc. or throughout the organization and how much?
Which privacy cert would you go for, CIPM or CIPT? Debating which I should test for, since I have competency in both. Which has better ROI for career, or in greater demand in industry?
Better to be a big fish in a small pond or a little fish in a big pond for MBA apps (I.e. superstar at B4 or mediocre/below average at MBB; metaphorically speaking ofc, ik the B4 is technically bigger in terms of size but you understand the point in terms of competitiveness)?
Chicago Exp hire in DC: 145k base for SC without MBA; Master from non target school. 5 yrs in consulting? Average?
Is it worth it to get a professional certification like SHRM/PHR? Not many of my colleagues have one and it’s not a requirement for my role, but I’m curious if it’s worth it in the long run

Working in Europe temporarily. Have an option to do Executive MBA, it’s around 70-90k Euros for an year. Another option I have is doing part time PhD in Management. It’s around 35-40k Euros for 4 years. Any thoughts on which one would be more useful? Currently work in a T2 in their digital practice. Had plans of shifting to MBB 3-4 years back but lost interest after
Thoughts on EW MBA from Booth/Kellogg/Haas. Currently SC at Deloitte and want to transition to tier 1 consulting firms
I read on Management Consulted that OW don't specifically recruit post-MBA. How accurate is that?
Have one week for shopping mortgage for first house. Where do i start, any online sites , credit unions or mortgage agencies that are offering low rate loans. First time home buyer so no clue what to look for. Any tips to work with PMI, points , loan terms.
Has anyone had the conversation on how we get Ss and Ts ready for returning in the fall? I’m not talking about mask usage, hand washing times, physical distancing in classrooms, etc. I don’t think we can expect Ts and Ss to come back and just hop right into academics. Need sometime to process together, get some SEL, be face to face social again, etc. Just wondering if districts out there have gotten a head start on this task.
Been in MBB for about six month, I can’t seem to get use to the 65-70 hr work weeks 😣 even an easy day leaves me exhausted. Anyone else feel this way?
How Safe Is Flying in the Age of Coronavirus? https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2020-06-19/how-safe-is-flying-in-the-age-of-coronavirus-quicktake
After flying coast to coast for a year, I got a mental breakdown yesterday and can't stop crying in my hotel room last night, I would like to get a new job with higher pay but visa limits my choices
For you that tip Ubers and expense it afterwards, how do you keep track? Always update a spreadsheet afterwards?
Friend wants to join consulting for the pay. I don’t believe she has the aptitude or energy for it. We worked together in a much slower industry, and even there she complained of being overworked. I’ve sent her resources to polish up her resume and links for roles but she’s insisting on texting/long phone calls asking silly questions. Today she wants a resume review over zoom! She comes without having done her homework. How do I tell her I’ve given as much as I can? How do I decline referring?
Should I stop depositing into my 401k?
How do you manage breakfast when they eat it in class? I feel like my classroom is such a mess before it is even 9 a.m.
Does loyalty to a particular firm matter or should one keep switching every 2-3 years to maximize ctc? Will ctc increase by the same amount if you stay long term in a firm? From a big 4 perspective, will loyalty and number of years at the firm matter to make partner?
Accenture HR: When a prospective employer runs a background check, does HR tell them reason for leaving (quit, fired, etc.) or just dates of employment? Was fired in September and wondering if I am required to tell them (upon asking why there’s a gap) if I was fired or just that I decided to leave.
I’ve seen a lot of post on FB about BCG Platinion that lean to the negative side. I am being approached by a recruiter for a position in Europe. Anyone willing to provide more detail on their experience? Maybe willing to chat? I’m also curious if I should be pushing for principal. They mention PL, but that seems like a step down. Thanks, fam! Hi fam - visa question, I may get a new project for 8 weeks at a new location. Will I need to file an H1 amendment if I am going to be at the client site for less than 30 days? Thanks!
How has your WFH experience during the pandemic impacted (or not) your sense of loyalty / willingness to sacrifice for: - your team - your client - your firm
