I recently applied for an internal position that requires me to move. My lease is up in the next month so kind of am on a time crunch. I feel I am the best candidate and they’ve expressed that I’d be in the top 2 as well and would be having a final interview this week, but said they’d have to reach out to HR to see what they could do about salary first. Here we are on Friday and have not heard back. What would you guys do? Not a fan of corporate games.

Why would a business choose to hire an agency instead of going the much cheaper route and hiring a freelancer?

Hi folks I recently switched and my package is 13 LPA but as the role was not aligning with my goals so I switched again within 2 months. Now when I got interviewed for this new org(which is a unicorn). At starting they agreed on min 20% hike + 1lpa as a Joining Bonus. But while giving the offer they gave the same amount of 13lpa. Do you guys think it's fair of starting the interviews with something and then lowball the candidate? My interviews went pretty well

Hoping someone could advice on it. I recently accepted a job offer and it has been discussed and confirmed via email/phone that my starting salary is £26k and will raise to £28k after 6 months probationary period. Now, I have been sent the contract but there’s no specific statement about the £28k salary after probation.

It might be a stupid question but I am worried about raising this as an issue. Is this normal? Or is it better to ask for a revised contact with the specifics?

I graduated with my bachelor's in HRM and I'm wondering if there are any certifications or trainings I could do before I lock down on the SHRM-CP. I recently became HIPAA certified for my company and that got me thinking about what else I could do to add to my resume. Looking for good stepping stone certificates.

Has anyone bought/ done the HRCI Certificate in Diversity and Inclusion in HR Management? I already have my PHR, but I’m looking to gain more knowledge/skills and beef up my resume. Is it worth doing? The course is $239 and you get 12 Recert credits with it.

For eg: walk them through company mission statements, etc. Also What forms of communication do you use if you do have the orientation? Do you create PowerPoint presentations? Looking for ideas. I’m looking to carve out my career in HR. I have 2 years in a dedicated HR Coordinator role (essentially with Generalist duties) and 5+ years in senior level hospitality management. I’m interested in getting my PHR or getting a certificate in data analytics with business/HR focus. Thoughts on next steps?

Evaluating a job offer (yay!)
I have 8 years of HR experience, no college degree, and no HR certification. Titles held have been HR Specialist, HR Administrator, HR Generalist, Associate HR Manager, and most recently, HR Director for only four months (toxic). Geographically speaking, salaries are not very high. I was offered $45k in an hourly role as a site HR rep for a hotel with about 50 employees in a bustling college town. Should I try to negotiate more pay? Any input is appreciated.

Week 2 at new company that goes off Chinese custom. Most employees are Chinese citizens on visa. I noticed something odd about some of their employment agreements, they are paid 85% salary during probation of 6 months. If performance is good, they get the full 100% after month 6. I personally have never seen this, nor do I think this is legal in the US let alone WA/CA. Trying to get them up to compliance but this one has me stumped. My gut says this is illegal. All employees are engineers.
