I’ve tried that they won’t help you out. Your best bet is to tell the recruiter you won’t be putting in your two weeks until it’s completed, but it’s up to them to decide if they’d be willing to work with you on that. Because mine didn’t
Don’t think you can do much in terms of expediting. I did call them directly to resolve some documentation questions, but honestly until you hear back from them just sit tight
You don’t have to put in your two weeks till your background check is completed (although they do need to call your current employer in order to complete it)
First advantage is seriously annoying. They will not expedite anything or even accept your documents unless they request more information. Usually, criminal BI comes back quickly unless you lived in many states and small towns. Big cities counties usually respond quickly ( mine cleared in 20 minutes for big cities). FA usually messes up education especially international degrees. Current employer need to be contacted but you can ask to delay that until two weeks before hiring. First advantage won’t give you more details about BI and will direct you to contact BI onboarding for more details. Don’t give your notice until Bi clears because you never know. The process is very stressful. Most candidates end up with BI decisional for a couple of items and Deloitte investigators are pretty good about clearing those issue BUT the Deloitte investigators are seriously busy and they don’t reach out until the week before you start date.
I called FA. They ended up needing a w2 because one former employer was non responsive. So it can sometimes help.
I called First Advantage when I was waiting. While they’ll never tell you you’re cleared, they did at least tell me there was nothing holding up my background check and I should be hearing from the recruiter soon. So maybe if you position it more as, is there anything else you’re still waiting on?
I nudged my recruiter by asking if it's ok for me to give my notice a day after my BI started and they said it's safe to do so. but the next day FA emailed me to verify one thing after I gave my two weeks. Honestly at this point I just want to get this over with.
