Currently work at an ID firm (2nd year) and realizing that litigation (arguing motions, taking depositions, etc) maybe not be for me. Anyone in a similar boat and successfully transitioned either to in house or corporate without having the requisite experience many jobs require?

I do ID and think that’s pretty common for junior lawyers. I’d see if you can get your hands on any coverage work, it’s adjacent but might be a better fit. There’s always in-house handling claims for an insurer too. Good luck!

And FWIW I just had a good friend go in house at a public company after 5 years of ID and coverage

You need to get experience in sophisticated insurance defense work (e.g. civil rights and employment). You can then leverage that experience to move to commercial with private-pay clients. It’s what I did.

Hey folks, I want to exit into industry by year end, and ideally I’d like to target associate director or SM roles at biopharma (thinking corp strategy, Portfolio planning, BD&L). I have roughly 2 YOE with a PhD. A large proportion of the companies I am interested in (cell and gene tx) are based in Boston, but I’m wondering how the opportunities are in New York, since I might be moving there to be closer to my S/O. Will I have more or less options, and will remote options be here to stay?

Boutique or big 4?

I'm currently an ops manager at a big 4 in London and received an offer from a small boutique firm with 25-30% pay rise.

I'm also in the process with Accenture but I feel like I'm not sure if I'd jump just for the money but also change in environment.
What type of things would you be asking yourself if you were in my shoes and debating to jump ship?

To put it plainly, why don't we educators invest in our professional development?
