So you get paid every OTHER week, if a pay period is two weeks. It's standard to see a week lag between end of the pay period and payday. Week 1: work Week 2: work, end of pay period 1 Week 3: work, paid for period 1 Week 4: work, end of pay period 2 Week 5: work, paid for period 2 ... Etc. Paid the week after a biweekly period ends. Your problem isn't the week delay (which again, is the case in almost every job) -- you need more cash flow. Consider applying elsewhere.

Wait, shouldn't you be paid every 2 weeks but off cycle from the week the period ends? Or is the pay period 3 weeks? Don't see the logic here

It takes them an extra week to process since, my manager submits the work on Monday and because it is submitted on the following Monday, it doesn’t go to our accounts until that third week Friday… I know pretty fucked up

We use ADP so this manager has to sign off on time checks.

My next door neighbors (two apartments per floor) constantly have incredibly loud music and people over during the weekends. I never cared about having loud neighbors before covid since I was always out and about myself but now I’m in my apartment given this pandemic and have to hear their music while watching Netflix. I don’t really know them and I don’t want it to get awkward so how do I approach them about it?

Am I the only one looking forward to returning to the office on at least a part-time basis? By the amount of posts I see about people applying for remote roles or wanting to quit if they have to return to the office it seems like the minority view. I’m tired of talking to a screen all day. Bring on the energy of in-person brainstorms, internal reviews, and presentations to clients who are in the room.

I recently accepted a new job which I’m super excited about and has most of what I was looking for in the next step in my career - they only draw back is they are requiring me to come into the office 2 days a week. That is a huge change for me as I started my career during COVID and have always been remote. I’m an introvert with social anxiety and ADHD so remote life treated me well. Any tips on RTO while managing social anxiety?

In the past few months, I’ve become very lonely. Partly due to Covid lockdown and my introvert behavior, I spend days without talking to anyone except my mom who lives abroad, so can only talk at night or in the morning due to time zone issues. I was intermittently seeing someone who wasn’t the best person to be with, and he used to visit me on Saturday mornings until past month. Now I’ve finally called it off with him and realize I don’t talk to anyone all day. (Contd)

Confession, the covid-19 pandemic has been nothing but fantastic for me. Still working from home, some additional perks from work, saved a ton of money not being able to do anything, as an introvert I got to just chill at home without the pressure of going out, got to bond with my family, I don't know anybody personally who died or got very sick either.
