Any in-house counsel in here willing to post their company, level or YOE, and total comp breakdown? If you’re comfortable, please consider posting both your current stats and what your stats were when you first moved in-house. If there’s any other information that you want to share, please include that too (e.g., hours, interesting perks, etc.). Info on in-house salaries is pretty hard to come by, and it would be great to compile some data points here! Facebook Amazon Google Netflix Apple

You can always go from banking to consulting, but not necessarily the easiest to do it the other way around. Why not try pivoting to PE before going the consulting route?
Yes best decision I ever made.
Is the comp the only motivation? Or do you like the work and career trajectory. Consulting is definitely a better work environment. As a background worked in banking and done consulting
I like the worm and career trajectory of consulting. One thing I don’t like in banking is the hierarchy involved for instance by boss would like to give me a promotion but the firm is very big on seniority I am by far the youngest person on my team currently I also am one of the highest paid but lowest job title. I was told I wouldn’t get a title promotion until after 2 years at the firm. The scope of my first in project in consulting is very interesting and exciting. I would only be working on projects in banking as well.
How exactly are you a full time PhD student and also currently working in Banking?
Def take the offer to go to consulting… you can always go back to industry post consulting but the opp to do the opposite doesn’t come often
