A lot of my friends and colleagues want to migrate into corporate strategy or BizOps and I feel compelled to want that as well - but I’m happy in sales.
The pervasive attitude seems to be that sales is a lower pedigree than strategy - do Corp Strat/ BizOps folks in tech make more money or are seen as more prestigious? Google Facebook (Meta) Amazon Stripe Netflix

HCA is the worst place to work, RUN
HCA is garbage. Don’t settle for less. Come to California and make real money. Plus you’ll get safe ratios and mandated breaks. Seriously, you’ll end up loving nursing again.
I was burnt out my first year too and people thought I was crazy! Almost 5 years and multiple specialties in and STILL burnt out. Try to stick out for 1 year if you can, then after that you can basically do anything. You can leave to go travel, apply for PACU or OR positions, look into WFH nursing jobs like telephonic triage, or look around your area for dermatology/aesthetics. OR you could make like me and start your transition into leaving entirely by going back to school for something completely different🤪 You could even start a business.
Just know you are NOT stuck and the opportunities are out there. You just have to go and get ‘em.
If you’re working OT, stop immediately. Only work your schedule. And use your PTO days. And make your issues known to management. Finish out your year if you can then look to other options.
I moved to NICU (part time) and I’ve never been happier.
Travel nursing or local agency if you're desperate. It'll pay more and can work when you want
Any advice on what your manager can do to help the situation? Or are the problems something that the manger can’t improve?
I am trying to learn as a new manager in these tough times during nursing.
If u r burnt after 7 months then clearly u have chosen the wrong profession
That's a but unfair to say. Maybe they aren't in the right specialty or hospital. The way a floor works together and the sense of community among peers makes a difference. Also the working conditions/ environment can vary from hospitals for the same specialty.
