In this environment a promotion has higher long term currency than a big raise. If I had to pick between a promotion with no raise or no promotion and no raise, I would pick the promotion. In this anamolous year, with so much unemployment and turmoil I will choose to be happy.

like

But revenue stated in 'Proud of firm and employees' email does not justify this huge increase 🥴

That's insane. You're saying you received a promotion and your salary only went up 1%?? What would it have been in a normal year?

like

Oh yikes, that’s rough. Mine was 2% ($3k) and I thought that was bad. I really feel for you.

Lot of sectors are doing really well. Only thing that is f’ed is travel, leisure, and entertainment. Every recession is different. I have colleagues who are making upwards moves even right now.

Hold up. You mean if a consultant promotes to manager they’re only getting 500 bucks to carry out their new manager duties? Is it 500 per month? Per check?

like

Nah. I’m guessing $500 annually based on what I’m seeing in the Deloitte bowl

What are raises being announced in August and not end of year? Just curious, I’m not at Deloitte

UK has no-raise without promo and raises delayed by 6 months if promoted.

That's terrible, you'll definitely need to renegotiate that salary after the recession to match your peer group or market value

To add to Dir1’s comment, my client still has plenty of furloughed staff.

Have you ever accepted an offer somewhere, and then a week later your current agency countered with a promotion and a higher salary than the other offer? I want to take the counter from my current place, but I don’t want to soil my reputation for revoking my acceptance. They are trying hard to retain me. Also, will I have a target on my back if I stay and they knew I was going to leave? I am also just grateful to have options and want to acknowledge that.

I am writing this here because I hope that maybe a woman can understand where I am coming from and what I should do. I joined Accenture January 2020 as a level 11, long story short, I talked to my CC about mid year promotion since January as well as my director. I learned on Friday I’m not up for promotion. My CC tells me because he didn’t see any client input feedback in the PA tool so he didn’t enter anything for promotion. My director tells me he thought I started with Accenture January 2021

Do laterals make you look like you failed to get a promotion? Internally transferred into FDD as an audit senior 3. My coach and partner have indicated that I’m still eligible for promotion to manager based on years of experience. I’m trying to gauge the actual likelihood of this happening. Obviously firms bring in audit managers at the manager level with no FDD experience but would love to know if it’s possible/likely to be promoted to manager with less than a year of experience. I’d advise anyone in audit to transfer sooner rather than later!
