Hey Googlers, I’m going in for my GCP TAM second round on Monday and had a few QQs for you all:
1. For the RRK2 case study if there is a scenario for handling peak time workloads where the client did a lift & shift of a monolithic architecture, is the best suggestion to move them to micro services to enable serverless and auto scaling features?
2. I was told that they’ll give me 15 mins to prep after the case study is shared live, would you suggest I build a 1 pager or is that not required?Google

Looking for some advice on the following - I want to make a pivot back to client services, specifically advisory/consulting/transaction services. I have 4 years public accounting experience, and 3.5 years manager experience within the corporate controllership function, both technical and SEC reporting related (more technical than SEC). What roles would I be a fit for? Public experience includes tax and audit. EY PwC KPMG Deloitte

Keep in mind once you get on a US project you’re probably working a lot more and you’ll feel depressed that you’re getting paid so little compared to your team members

Few of our teams work very closed with their counterparts in US team. start form there. I have worked for about close to 8 months with US based projects. Few of our teams does not have good relation with their counterparts in US, and those team might not be good place to start. Reach out to your partner, and express your preference, and they might be able to arrange something.
Following because I’m interested too

Yes true. They work for 9 hours and make more than us. Their quality of delivery is way better than us and so our their delivery expectations. I feel D US is where some serious business happens, when I compare their projects with ours.
Agree re: anecdotal comment. I’ve worked with some terrible Deloitte US resources - like absolutely terrible - but also some great ones! Because they are a larger market they are much more specialized than us. So they will literally have a practice 50 person deep that does the same project over and over again. If you do the same project constantly you will get tighter on delivery and tools/templates naturally.
