Dad gave me 10k 3 years ago to invest for him and now he wants just the 10k back and told me to keep the change.

Do I take it out of the 10k from the market or from my savings account? I want to have cash on me but also want to hold on this apple position? 🤔

Personally I’d keep the money in the market and pay out of savings.

Aw what a generous offer from your dad

funnylike

Invested it in Apple but I'm not going to lie that I have little square and Coinbase of my own cash that I regret buying haha

Selling is a taxed event. Your savings arent

It could be a loss, which would be a good taxable event

Definitely keep it in the market. Bears historically last no more than a year. It’s been that. We’re due for a bounce within this year.

How much cap appreciation/income accrued over those three years?

You should give your dad the 10K out of the savings and buy him something really nice too

like

And/Or adjust it for inflation for his kindness.

Well sounds like you can’t have both. How much cash do you have? How long would it take to add that cash back to the account?

like

Maybe about 3 months and I have 35k in cash

Why not both?

why did he do this? what was the point of the whole thing lol

apple is not far from its all time high so depending on ur outlook of overall economy could consider either way

Hi Fishes.
I’m an L4 IC. I just got promoted to L4 in an off cycle promotion. It’s been only a month and since it’s a CS based role we work in Night Shifts. I feel monotonous within a month as it is a Virtual role.
I started to look for roles in JobFinder. The HMs are okay to consider, but the thing is “How do I say it my Current Manager??”
Can anyone give a subtle idea, such that my Current manager agrees even though its a month only?

Organization is critical for classroom management. Try assembling units into Google Slides with links to ppts, activities, etc. Color code them according to the rainbow: Unit 1 red, Unit 2 orange etc. It takes a minute at first but the payoff is a one click upload for next year! PS I use the same color code system with felt tip pens to grade my classes: 1st hr red, 2nd hr orange etc.
