Wife is past her due date. We’re not risking getting sick at this moment for a tiny bit of freedom.
I’m going out to dinner.
When I have looked at the facts I don’t feel that the danger is really any worse than most things of the past. The difference is that the media and governments around the world picked this one up and ran with it.
Same. Haven’t seen my best friend in over a month. We’ll be going somewhere nice for dinner and drinks.
I live alone and pose minimal risk to myself or to others. I won’t be shamed into thinking I’m a bad person for leaving my house.
Personally, my routine isn’t going to change at all. I can work from home and am not willing to risk unnecessary outings while we’re nowhere near where we need to be on containing the virus (especially considering Dallas County’s case count is projected to peak on May 5)
Going to keep the same routine for now: work at home, limit trips out for groceries or grocery pick up, and maintain space when outside. I’ll see how thing go over the next few weeks. If everything seems fine, great! If not, it’s a lesson learned for our city. I have kids and a parent living with us, just can’t assume the risk if it’s avoidable.
Fiancé and I are not going out except to walk the dog. He is a physician and I have an advanced degree in health tech policy. Both of us are risk averse so we believe that “no evidence” does not equal can’t happen - especially in a virus this new. We’ve pretty much ignored CDC guidance from the start and have adopted our own more stringent guidelines based off of what we know about related viruses. What we’re doing is not for everyone, but we’re in our 30s with parents in their 60s and grandparents in their 90s. His patients are also older with compromised immune systems. We’re just trying to do what we think is best with what we know... which unfortunately isn’t much at all at this point.
Catch me in Klyde Warren in an hour
Gonna lay low for a couple more weeks to see if this will increase the rate of infection
Pretty much the same for me, except my weekly date night with my wife. Might be able to dine in somewhere instead of pickup. Otherwise, still working at home doing video chats for client project work and meetings.
My wife and I went to Perry’s out in Southlake and it was great. Businesses are clearly taking right steps to get people through the door.
Went to Beto and Son tonight at Trinity Groves. A news crew came up to me and my friend but we told them that going on camera and the local news would be like signing our death warrants.
A lot of people out there are NOT happy to see people going out and I didn’t want my face out there like that.
Other than that I had a lovely time and look forward to keep going out while still practicing social distancing.
