Former volunteer fire police here. I understand - I was sometimes first on scene and saw some horrific stuff. I cannot properly express the frustration when I was either too late or just unable to make what had happened any better. The only solace I had was that sometimes the first aid I was able to administer likely did save some lives and that made it all worth it.

Stopped, called 911; no aid to be rendered at the point I arrived quite upset that several people kept driving.

Looking for career advice for a mentee who has two competing Internship offers as a sophomore from Google and Uber. Initially encouraged him to pick Google because of brand name, but the Uber offer pays an extra $10k over the summer and he supports himself through college so it is a material difference. Also from what I've heard, it's easier to get a return offer from Uber than Google's soph program.
Which would you take and why? I'm not in the tech field so trying not to give bad advice 😁
