Worked in banking before D - the weekends you don’t work and the relationships you make/develop are worth far more. Invest your money appropriately and you’ll come out with the same net income but with half the hours spent.
Newb question, but curious as to how much banking typically makes? Wonder why people would go this route as if it’s the only field to make a lot. I would think the tech pay and WLB ratio would far exceed banking
$ doesn't solve burnout
PM1, only in the sense that you can FIRE and hop off the wheel.
Money doesn’t buy happiness.

What’s the point of making bank if you literally have no time to spend it 🥴

I left firm based consulting for somewhat of an internal consulting role with an old client. I have only a bachelor’s degree.

So, about $25 an hour base, $40 an hour TC.
Rising salary to fix burnout?
It should really be called Goldman Sux, not Sachs.
Isn’t associate always 150k base? Other firms raised it to 175k. Can’t fathom the GS discount here.
I think post mba role is $300k standard
D5, you are saying the lesser hrs worked and the network you gained from D > your time in banking?

Amazing how many of my life's problems would have been resolved if I was just a decade younger.
What are you going to do with 110k? That’s like 1 vacation post tax
I prefer to earn ALOT less and live better, well... Just live.
To those kids who think "I prefer to earn morehh and burn out!1!" let's remember them that REAL burn out could mean mild, but also moderate to severe depression and/or panic and anxiety.
Which is (based on ppl who suffered it) way worse than most organic diseases out there.
Tech is the new banking
