I was told by a PPED in NY today that the reasons I'm not up for partner is needing to lose weight, not being female or a diversity candidate, and not having the right family image (married with kids)
After reading many annual reports, I am really getting tired of the fact that female management board members are always HR. Often that’s the only female member. Gender equality has long way to go
Thought: When you see diversity of skin color as the most critical factor you miss out of diversity of experience and ideas. Quite often these overlap, but there are a lot of people out there like JD Vance who come from poor white roots, but because of their skin color they’re assumed to have some magical privilege bestowed upon them by society. Likewise, wealthy people of color are lumped in with their less affluent counterparts. We’re so quick to look at skin color and see the sum (cont’d)
On a call with the CEO talking about diversity and they compare a person with tattoos experiencing prejudice in the office to Black people colleague experiences... Meanwhile last I checked, a tattoo was a choice and removable. Also depending on placement, you can’t see it.
Starting full time at McKinsey in November. Curious to know what it’s like for fellow gender non-conforming folk, as well as non-binary and trans folks at the firm (or as consultants in general!) Are there any trans/non binary people at your firm/office location, regardless of your firm? Just trying to gauge what kind of world I’m stepping into.
TFW you are so engrossed in your phone you realize you walked in and sat in a stall of the other gender's restroom ....then panicking to figure out how to leave.
I am looking to gain certification or other credentialing in diversity and inclusion, not only because it would look good on my resume both for future job-search purposes and also to become better educated in this area, which is growing in importance. I looked at SHRM's "Inclusive Workplace Culture Specialty Credential" and got a bit of "sticker shock" at the cost - $1,655.00 for members. Does anyone have other suggestions on training/credentialing in this area?
Am I wrong in thinking it’s inappropriate to talk negatively about members of a specific gender or race at work? I’ve been hearing more of it recently.

I have a controversial observation: Facebook seems to be using recruitment process managers to get diversity hires. I've looked at all the RPM hires over the past few years and every one of them seems to be a woman, most commonly a woman of color. I'm all for diversity, but this feels out of balance. Am I wrong?
The best private school (best on ranking) in my area is an all girls school (K-12). What’s the pros/cons of sending my daughter to an all girls school? My wife and I both grew up outside of the US and have not experienced single gender schools. Looking for any thoughts /personal experiences. Thanks!
Accenture, BCG, Deloitte & E&Y all signed up to be in the consortium for eliminating the gender pay gap. All the sudden I'm feeling the urge to switch firms!
Does anyone have a way to help me learn and better understand gender issues? ( a good youtube video to watch- a PD link, anything. ).
Veteran | MBA candidate looking to pivot into D&I strategy. Thoughts on general HR vs diversity recruiting?
Tired/disgusted about all the gender discrimination and sexual harassment we face at work ? Me too. Post about your experiences on www.hesaidwhaaat.com
Advice on dealing with clients who want to do diversity-centered messaging without donating to any causes or benefitting BIPOC in a tangible way?
Hello, I am dying to know the average age and gender ( even non Binary) of people in this bowl. Just curious , I will start - Female 33Y
I’m thinking of quitting breastfeeding. My baby is 5 months old, and my pump just broke, and I don’t think she’s eating enough and she wakes up all the time at night hungry. I’m just tired of it. I’d rather just give her bottles and call it a day. Ready for my husband to take the night feeds, ready to be able to have a drink without worrying about when I have to feed the baby. The actual breastfeeding has been easy, which is why I feel guilty for “quitting.”
Officially had the worst date of my life. Dude kept saying he’s expecting me to pay for the entire tab (which is nbd really) before we reached the restaurant for dinner and drinks. It was all fun and merry until the check came and the waiter gave the check to him instead of me. Date gets offended and calls waiter a sexist bc “why should men pay all the time?” And angrily gives his credit card 💳. I insist and put my credit card as well and we split the tab. 😂🤣 this was our first and last date. ☺️
Anyone here working at Trade School (ATL) or familiar with it? Would love to hear some experiences or opinions.
Ladies, looking for advice on when to tell job that I’m expecting. I am due early November. I’m on the bench, so being considered for multiple rolls. I’d start and then have to go on leave 2-3 months later. Any advice? Are there any specific rules? I was thinking of telling HR 30days out to start leave conversation. TIA!

Anyone at LEK / Parthenon / AlixPartners / Alvarez & Marsal hiring? Looking to move from S&
16 weeks and so worried all of the stress I’m under is going to hurt the baby. Between work, my own scary (non-pregnancy) health stuff, the pandemic, my mom (who is a widow and lives alone, basically isolated by choice due to covid) is having health issues, and pressures to keep billable hours up, I’ve been having complete breakdowns. Today I spent almost the entire day crying and now have to make up the billable time this weekend. I really worry abt what effect this will have on the babe.
Hey mommas - My baby is 14 weeks old and I haven't gotten my period back yet. I'm worried I'm pregnant again. When did you get your period back? For context, I'm breastfeeding but not exclusively (I am pumping and nursing as much as I can though). I've been on the pill since 6 weeks and my husband used condoms for the first few weeks once we started again. Surprisingly, I can't find anything online that's helpful. Any sense of a timeframe would be tremendously anxiety-reducing!
As a first year AC, should I be investing in property and renting it out? (houses are cheap where I live, and got even cheaper bc of covid) Or should I be investing in stocks/index funds?
Can someone explain to me the role the state plays in marriage and the distinction between the religious sacrament and the state sanctioned title? It’s seems ludicrous that you cannot marry who you love and that the state can force a church to break its code, so they have to be separate I am assuming..
For those with kids, how would you feel if someone without kids told you “I chose not to have kids, because of where I want to spend my time. And, my priorities outside of work should carry as much weight as yours (meaning kids)”?
I’m getting my first classroom as a special educator! What are some things that you love having in your classroom (favorite books, favorite activities, posters, decor, organization tools, anything!)?
