Data analyst vs data specialist generally?

A data analyst brings a deep level of technical expertise to the table to ensure the quality and accuracy of that data. A data specialist may do some data analysis of a client's information, they research data sources mostly to fix any corrections to existing data to ensure the accuracy of the recorded information.

like

Data analysts have to make sense of the given data but a data specialist takes on a more broader level to guide what direction the analysis needs to go in, and what kind of data makes the most sense based on goals

like

I think analysts are limited to working with given data while specialists are masters at their industry and are hired for their expertise

Hi all! I’m in the search of a remote HRBP role, looking for a company that is willing to pick me up as a new HRBP. I’ve been in the role 4 months, but this company is a disaster. The culture is so bad, I had an employee say they can’t even go to the bathroom without permission. I’m really not wanting to go back to a generalist role. Prior to this job, I had another offer of HRBP but I didn’t like the interview. Been in the field 6+ years. Let me know if anyone has anything!

I’m a data analyst in the data and analytics department at my company but I don’t use SQL/Python nor do I use data visualization tools. I’ve been taking SQL and Tableau courses on DataCamp but I don’t think I’m retaining much.

I just find it weird how my title is a data analyst yet I don’t code/use data visualization tools. Help :/

Anyone gotten an offer that was so low they walked away? would love to hear about what it was and why - stressed about turning down an offer that's almost insultingly low (34K a year for a Marketing Analyst position.) and they've made it very clear negotiation is not happening.

I need current market rates for analytics freelancers. Work skews toward true marketing analytics (reporting, dashboards) but will also include things like social listening or light audience work (3P available info - nothing custom). Prefer agency backgrounds.

What would hourly rates look like for:
Analysts
Sr Analysts
Managers

Hello I am curious to know what people think of getting a masters degree in Data Science. I am looking at a program that is 32k which compared to others is not as expensive. I have experience with python and I work on my own projects but no professional experience. I am finding it extremely hard to break into an entry level data analyst role. I am hoping that a master degree would help with that process.
