The purists will say “No Date”. The practicalists will say “Date”. The opportunists will say “Get what’s available.”
A lot can change in a year, and as they say, “a Rolex at the AD is worth two at a Gray” (haha, I just made that up). I would snag the Date now, see if you bond with it, and if you don’t you can either trade it for a No Date, or sell it down the road to fund the No Date when it becomes available. In all likelihood, you’ll come to enjoy the date if you plan to wear the watch at work anyway.
Great input. Appreciate it.
Cheers
I prefer the no date because I’m not the biggest fan of the cyclops
I like the signature date tbh.
Kermit if date, no date if regular black dial submariner.

Hulk if date, otherwise i agree 😉
No date for sure, looks more balanced
Date + cyclops is iconic tbh
Date, but that’s because the Sub is my everyday watch. I need the date multiple times a day and looking it up my phone kind of kills the point of wearing a watch.
Prefer date with no cyclops.
Yes! Don't have one but every so often I get the urge to hunt one down. I was bummed when they updated it.

I like both for their own reasons, but I would go date if I was you since you can get it way sooner. If you can get LV you should def go for that
No date sub...if you want date then go Sea Dweller, slightly larger but date with no cyclops.

SD has a cyclops now. The old model didn’t.

Date is a classic. Alternatively if you can get both I’d buy the 126610ln off you, my AD quoted me Nov at earliest
Personal preference but date model for me. I find without the date it’s less interesting to look at, perhaps a bit boring.
