sounds like a generic ass excuse for just not being into the relationship. people make time for the things (and people) that are important to them.
Drop him - he’s making BS excuses because he’s not feeling it. I don’t see what starting a new job has to do with committing to a romantic relationship, unless he plans to move cities and it would be long distance. Otherwise, what’s the issue?
Sorry OP he’s pretty much choosing his new career over you. Yes It hurts, when you meet the right person that comes along he will balance his career and you as a priority!
If they can't handle a new job and a relationship - and aren't even willing to try! - they are not in it for the long haul I'm afraid. Sounds like a lackluster excuse to avoid commitment. I'd sit down and have a talk to clarify what this means for the two of you. Wishing you all the best, OP!
Move on.
I started consulting recently... I’m making time for my SO.
He doesn’t want it.
Yeah move I either way. Girl\boy doesn’t want it
So back into the Chicago dating pool? I don’t think making time for me will be an issue, but is it understandable to want some headspace when starting a new firm before committing to someone?
Hey OP - at the end of the day he doesn’t seem to want to pursue this. Validating or rationalizing what he expressed as his reason to stop isn’t going to help. Have a self-pity party for a day, then get your vamp on and go take Chicago by storm!
He’s really telling you that he does not think it’s worth figuring it out. Believe him!
Preach on it!
Lol what if I told y’all this was a woman actually 😄
Wouldn’t change a thing! People overlook the truth when they chose to look at their love interest with rose colored glasses!
I hate it when people use that lame excuse. So what, you get married and five years later your SO gets another new job. “I’m sorry honey, I just can’t do this marriage and on-boarding at the same time”. Get out of here.
OP I figured it was a woman- it’s a graceful exit. Let her have it.
