Is the firm doing anything to combat those leaving the practice during covid? Isn’t the firm on a hiring freeze?
Celebrating a zoom birthday tonight with some brown-drink friends. Second-to-last friend to have a COVID birthday. Can’t wait until we can celebrate in person again with some really special bottles to make up for lost time.
Why do most of the men keep their relationship secret and not even disclosing to friends. "We need to be cautious and safe",thats what he says. I mean is this relationship or corona virus.. Besides its almost 2 years relationship now. Especially guys (28-29 unmarried) please explain your philosophy
If only we lived in a world where Trump took as swift and immediate action on the very real coronavirus threat....as he is doing now on the social media / Twitter grievances he has. Alas, the virus did not hurt his sensitive feelings...
Kläder på jobbet.
Jag blev anställd under covid och har inte behövt köpa en enda kostym ännu. Skulle uppskatta lite råd kring detta ämne, märken, färg och sånt?

Good evening all,
With my partner we are considering making a move to the countryside of Switzerland, with a gorgeous RE project offering incredible views on immaculate mountains and lake. However, it is far away, and will require 1h+ train/car commute vs. 10 min biking right now. We are scared it will bite us back at some point, although COVID helped w/ remote working being a new norm. The project will be done 2024, so I hope to have a more relax job by then. Any similar experience to share?
Leaders, Could you share your thoughts, that you are willing and able to share, regarding:
1. How are your clients viewing post-Covid in-office work?
2. How do you think expectations for face-to-face work and travel (and the associated expenses) will change for your teams based on client expectations?
3. What are the views of your teams re: willingness / eagerness to travel?
I currently not doing great in my current organization. I have 5+ years of experience. My package is 5 lpa. I lost my both my parents in 2021 due to COVID. My condition is very bad financially & emotionally. Requesting all fishes to please help me with some referrals if there's any vacancies. Thanks in advance.
Moving to Philly Nov 1, just signed a lease in Queen Village. Coming from LA where I was part of a volleyball group and had a lot of options at the beach. Suggestions on making friends and being active (while still being respectful of covid rules & health of all)? 36 F
Hyd folks - Heard first hand horror stories of friends struggling to get care at hospitals for family members with COVID. Even with all the money and influence. Stay safe!
Has anyone successfully had a score extended (not asking about COVID related extension just in general)?
I’ve done so many final round Goldman securities/Investment Management interviews that I’ve lost count. My most recent interview was a result of taking part in the Career Pivot Program, but HR ghosted me when Covid hit. Does anyone have and helpful tips on how to get the offer at the final round? And is anyone in the securities/investment management arm willing to chat regarding a referral?
I keep getting surprised each month by our firm financial reports indicating we are relatively on track with our pre-Covid budget, while also watching our overall billable hour numbers for the year continue to go down. So, it is really 2021, when our 2020 backlog AR won’t be rolling in, that I should really be planning to hunker down for?? Seems a bit like the disconnected stock market to economy.
Any attorneys exit PA for tax counsel jobs? Besides going to a law firm, what exits have you seen people make? Not interested in big law as I am already losing my mind working these covid hours.
Took advantage of my self-isolation to fully marie-kondo my apartment. Now I need to take a giant pile of stuff to Goodwill. I guess it will sit in my closet until this coronavirus situation clears up
How big is your emergency fund? I plan on keeping at least a 100k in cash for this coming recession (7 month reserve including my rental property mortgages).
Almost worried that it might not be enough.
I recently cleared all rounds of interview for Mindtree and waiting for the offer letter. However, since Mindtree has been recently acquired by LTI, is there any layoff expected to happen in Mindtree?
Kindly pls give me an idea about how the situation is now in both companies.
Any one working as QA in AT&T project in Tech Mahindra ??

I’m a senior consultant with a few years experience doing big programme delivery and TOM design work.
I feel a like I’ve hit a ceiling, work is starting to get more repetitive, less interesting and challenges are mostly stakeholder management issues rather than technical.
I’d like to move onto something more intellectually stretching, whilst also accelerating my earning potential.
Does anybody have any ideas on possible career moves that would suit?
I spoke to a recruiter about a month ago regarding a position. The comp base variable split was 70/30 which was a great guarantee compared to 50/50 split on same OTE I have now. Since initial discussions the offer has changed to 60/40 split and a 20k lower OTE). I am quite disappointed but also see it a still a very strong opp and I’m really ready to try something new. They mentioned a signing bonus. What is a reasonable signing bonus to ask for? Its 40k difference from the orig base.
Hi fishes, Am looking for reference in a product development company. I have 8+ in @Android development and team handling. Available to work from Jan2023. Location: Bangalore
I’m dealing with severe anxiety about my future. Woke up at 4 this morning and found it difficult to get back to sleep. I’ve talked to a therapist and family, taken medication, and read self-help books, nothing seems to work. I feel as though it’s never going to get better.
Which will be better between power bi vs Google data studio...
I have two offer, one is using power bi and other is using data studio..
Need your suggestion in this..
Riffing off a part in another bowl - if you could design a new economic system to replace capitalism, what would you change.
Clearly government control is not the way to go, but there are also clearly some major problems with a system that requires endless growth and prioritizes capital accumulation as an end in itself.
There has to be a better way to incentivize individual excellence while harnessing it towards more socially beneficial goals.
Hi everyone. Ex Accenture consultant now running a podcast business. I started a podcast called Dear Asian Americans. Check it out on podcasts formats and on IG @dearasianamericans thanks and be safe!
I'm interviewing for a cybersecurity role in Abu Dhabi. Can anyone give me any insight into expenses and lifestyle? The role pays 30K - 35K AED/month. Is that a good salary?
Had an interview with google today (via hangout), thought it went fairly well. Asked recruiting contact for the email of the interviewer, and she said they don't give out that information. Bad sign?
Few things unite paid social peeps like the fresh hell that is Sprinklr. I no longer work with it on a regular basis, but every once in a while I shudder remembering the rage I felt trying to bulk build ads or pull reporting in the dashboard, especially on the rare occasions I had to work on weekends. Does anyone use it for paid and actually love it??
How much admin/non billable time is good on a weekly timesheet? I try to limit it to 30 minutes a day...
Any Vancouver agencies or post houses you enjoy working with? Looking for a change in scenery

Currently in ID. A recruiter reached out with a plaintiffs side property/personal injury offer. The pay is $100-200k depending on experience. Since I can’t get anymore details out of the recruiter, and don’t have any knowledge of that side of the aisle l, is there a catch here? I always figured plaintiffs side had a lower base pay but got the real money from settlements.
I lateraled from a small firm (30 attorneys) to a midsized firm (200 attorneys) in July as a third year corporate/M&A associate. I like the firm but I’m constantly getting biglaw recruiting emails and it has me wondering whether I should think about lateraling again in the future from midlaw to biglaw. When would be the ideal time given that I’ve only just lateraled?
Are there any good M&A/PE/Corporate firms in Las Vegas? Can you comment or DM if you have any insights on LV Corporate including environment, pay, etc. Thank you!
Has anyone switched from big law to government and are you happy you did? Interviewing for a government job next week.
Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP Anybody else upset over the differing policies at Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP regarding WFH (attorneys required to be in office 3x/week while others required 4x/week)? Appreciate the flexibility but doesn’t seem right to have separate policies.
Anyone know what happens to a two-party shareholder agreement when a third shareholder enters the picture (by a shareholder transfer diluting the original 2 shareholders)? That shareholder agreement is silent on what happens. Now that there are 3 shareholders is it void?
Does anyone have a document with example narratives for billing a client?? I’m looking for something to adapt and that I could use frequently in an estate planning practice. On that, I’m completely new to billable hours and coming from an in house role, so I’m trying to do anything I can to help my end goal.
I am considering transitioning from being a W2 employee to a independent contractor/1099. What are some important questions I should ask before making a decision?
For context, I have been with my litigation firm for just over 3 years and have been barred for 4. I am doing fine, but I dislike the job and would like to reduce my hours (and get rid of some of the non billable work I have to take on). Ideally, I would transition to a job that I love, but I’m not sure what that is yet. Cont. below.
How do you track your time spent reading and responding to emails? I don’t want to run a timer each time I open outlook, but I feel like I’m losing hours of billable time every day to one-off emails that I would never individually bill for.
What are peoples thoughts on the impact of employer's posting the salary ranges in a job posting for the employees who currently hold that same position? My (3y junior assoc) NYC based ID firm just posted the range for roughly my same position and the max (130k) is significantly higher than my current salary (95k). I know ID is typically an underpaid and overworked area of the law but I'm worried people with less or similiar experience than me are being hired for much comp. Advice?
I have practiced law for several years and still struggle with the feast-or-famine nature of my practice. (Sudden rush of client outreach, many emergencies, then … nothing). A famine week might be 3-4 billable hours/day. My practice area does not have a predictable annual cycle, like “year end” or “tax day.” Any tips from other attorneys for how to recognize, predict, and/or even out these periods?
How many non-billable hours do you bill per year? Do they count towards your goal and bonus?
Any big law lawyers here from Toronto, Canada??
I switched two years ago from regional real estate/energy to a local small, but established residential real estate practice. While I’ve gained so much practical experience and run my own book here, I want to shift to a non-traditional remote role in real estate but keep getting turned down. I have strong credentials but I’m worried this small firm experience is killing my marketability to large companies.
WWYD: I applied for an associate position at a plaintiff’s firm that is advertising how they’re currently expanding in leaps and bounds over 7 days ago, and even got an old classmate of mine who is currently there to forward my CV and other materials to the decision makers on top of applying through the normal channel. I haven’t heard a thing. Do I reach out to the firm to see where they’re at in the process? Do I continue to wait patiently for them to reach out?
What’s pay for in-house position for a 5-7th year associate - Lit and employment. Obviously depends on company but generally, what are some of you making? I need to figure out if In house is the right move financially for me and my family.
Can anyone give insight to the culture at Cozen?
Firm continues to lose Legal Assistants and Paralegals without hiring any back resulting in overloading the employees that stay. I am feeling the burnout and most feel it is a toxic environment as most have negative attitudes. No extra pay or incentives have been given. Do you stay or do you leave?
Thank you for posting. Maybe, this will persuade those not taking the pandemic seriously to now do so.
Praying that he has a full recovery. I just saw him speak on a panel at a CLE at Fordham.
True. Thank you.
P1, that’s really not the issue nor relevant. People who are asymptomatic can carry the virus and infect others, the number of those “others” is higher than most realize, and the healthcare system is ill equipped to deal with the pandemic as is evident by what is currently transpiring.
This is a shame. I’ve met him a few times at events and he was always very nice. He and his partner adopted a baby a few years ago if memory serves. I hope he pulls through.
Oh no...hope he get well soon. People should really think this seriously.
Thoughts and prayers for David. My only (serious) question is whether he had some other pre existing condition other than just exercise induced asthma? It seems like that alone in a 40 something year old should not be critical but maybe I am underestimating this thing.
Asthma can turn any cold into something very serious because you get hyperbronchiosensitivity that can last for weeks--your airways constrict. Covid causes scarring at the alveoli (air sac) level so that's a double whammy. Im asthmatc and have gone into 100% quarantine since Monday (CA) because this could very well kill me.
