I had offer from company A and B. A was offering only 22% hike on my CTC but copany B was offering 30% hike on CTC. After accepting the offer from company A and just before 20 days of LWD I asked for making it to 30% hike. I’m on my first big freelance project and could use some help. I was asked to estimate the number of days on project with limited information, but once I got into it, the bigger scope was revealed. This, along with delays from the client means it’s taking much longer to complete.
How do you navigate this type of situation?

What is the minimum unit of time you bill? A quarter of an hour?

I’ve been a freelance print production designer for many years, and usually on-site in the before times. Now I work remote, and am finding it uneasy dealing with billing. Before I always billed hourly, which made sense, but it’s becoming an issue now. Some companies don’t have a full days’ work, so it seems wrong to bill full days, and it allows me to juggle projects for different companies, but my billable hours are down.
