Nope. Not crazy! Correct them again and inform them that you’d like them to respect your wishes. It goes for name mispronunciation too, you wouldn’t want someone saying your name wrong again and again so frankly informing them works out better than brushing it under the rug. You’re the parent 🙏🏽
Not crazy! You should stop them. I had a nickname that is still stuck with me and I’m 29 YO. Still makes my mom mad to this date lol
And this is exactly my concern!
Is the provider using the nickname or the kids or both? How does your son feel about it (if he’s old enough to have an opinion)? My 2 cents is that providers should use his/your preferred name and asking them to do so is totally fair game; but asking providers to tell other kids not to use the nn seems like a stretch to me — assuming the nn something like Ben vs Benjamin and not Benjamin vs Champ or something like that
If he hates it and you hate it, a correction is more than in order
