More than 2 hours, but the Omni Homestead resort is worth the trip and very luxe. They have an outdoor pool that's fed by a hot spring.
We thought it was dated with a bit of The Shining vibe but thoroughly enjoyed the weekend regardless. Grounds are beautiful

If you’re looking into doing a couple spa, I’d recommend a “Time for two” - 60 mins $360. If it’s just for your wife then a “Forest Therapy” - 60 mins $185 is good too!

The Inn at Perry Cabin. The wedding scene from Wedding Crashers was filmed there. Very beautiful spot.
Yes! It is on our list. It runs about $700/night though
I don’t know the drive time to DC, but I used to do long weekends at the Lodge at Woodloch in PA. Total fancy AF spa experience with great meals, classes, etc. included.
