Dealing with a weird issue. I have become extremely burpy over last 2 years. I have changed my diet to try and eat less , and healthy. What I noticed is even if I just drink a glass of water, I have 10 plus loud after that. I have seen my doctor but he couldn’t find anything wrong. What could it be?

Try Daily Harvest

That doesn’t sound like a very well balanced diet. Most health plans include a dietician or nutritionist.

like

Thanks! I ll try to see a dietician.

It can be multiple reasons: constipation, food intolerance, not enough water, constant stress, hormonal fluctuations.
I would check with gastroenterologist, or holistic therapist.

Cucumber seeds always make me burp

Go see a GI. I have a similar problem but it comes out in large hiccups and have issues swallowing food. Recently had a bougie dilation done to help with some rings that had formed in my esophagus and I’m awaiting results to see if I may have EoE which could be a result of a n allergy. I also have bad acid reflux.

Get checked for asthma. This happened to a coworker of mine and it turned out to be asthma (and completely manageable with a daily low dose steroid inhaler).

like

Go see a board certified allergy & immunology internal medicine specialist. They specialize in respiratory conditions like asthma. Good luck!

It’s very embarrassing and nothing seems to help. I have stopped drinking any fizzy drinks

You're eating healthier but you don't say what? I found eg the protein and cauliflower rice in my diet (to name a few) were still keeping me gassy...healthy, but, gassy!

C1- I am eating eggs , soups , some GF bread, Gatorade , coffee, cucumber, tomato mainly

Gatorade has high sugar content, i dont think its doing you any favors

like

If it isn’t an issue other than embarrassing and your doctors give you a clean bill of health, let it ride. Try and be polite when it happens but keep living your life

Sounds like you need to visit the doc again, maybe visit a GI specialist, this time describing your sense that your esophagus is not emptying into your stomach normally and that you have to sit up for a long time after you eat.

Meanwhile, try eating very mindfully, chewing well and slowly so you don’t swallow a lot of air, beware of drinking too much water with means, see if taking an OTC antacid relieves your symptoms.

Digestive system is pretty regular , no known food intolerances. I do have a hard time drinking water and staying hydrated.

Drinking lots of water will keep your body from retaining water. This is a key. Make yourself some bloat detox water: for 5 glasses of water, slice 1 lemon, 1/2 of grapefruit, 8-10 slices of cucumber and 3 fresh rosemary sprigs. Combine all ingredients together and let it sit for 4 hours and drink as desired.

How do you not care / stress way too much about your job? I am a mom and stressed out most workday evenings thinking about the work / interactions during the day. I have heard TEd talks about compartmentalizing job vs personal life , mindfulness etc , but I don’t change. I could literally leave my job & focus on kids alone & be fine as husband is in a executive position. Yet, it’s my own career focus & my self induced stress and pressure that takes a toll on me. What’s your advice for me?
