I would go with #1 for these reasons:
-Unlimited PTO on paper looks good but is actually an employer-favored benefit (in practice people take less PTO and when they leave it’s not paid out)
- Depending on your family situation, the value of a good benefit package (medical, dental, Rx) could be worth at least $10k
- Take Glassdoor ratings with a grain of salt, but good / bad management can really affect your day to day life and willingness to stay in the role

This 110%

Discover has a better brand, also unlimited vacation is a trap, you would end up taking 10-15 days max!

like

Discover. See below for my rationale

like

Thanks everyone for saying Discover. Personally, I’d say it depends on what is important to you. Seems you said GC process soon in reply to another, and I don’t know what “soon” is. If waiting an extra 6 months is too long to wait, then stop reading and just accept CIOX.

If waiting 1 year is within your definition of “soon”... The PTO is actually generous compared to a lot of other companies. The benefits are really really good, so much that whenever I do medical/dental/vision appointments, the staff often do a double take and can’t believe what the coverage is. Generally the base pay is lower compared to other companies because of the benefits. The company has a high focus on increasing engineering talent, so you would be joining in a highly valued role. The culture is more down to earth and family friendly however advancement is not easy due to the heavy reliance on office politics. Leadership has a good long view so you should expect the company to weather the recession well without short sighted decision making. This is a good place to either get experience & add the brand to your resume or a place to “sit” to retire.

Unlimited PTO is a scam, you’ll end up taking less than 25 days! I’d go discover there’s positioned well to handle the pandemic and you can lateral to bigger banks down the line

Discover seems to be the better option here. I don't think 10K is enough to turn down a better company with better benefits.

like

Discover. The 10k per year is worth the guaranteed vacation days, benefits and more recognizable brand, not to mention the noticeably better rating. 3.9 is decently good, but 2.9 means there was/is some major issue. An extra 6 months for processing doesn't sound that bad, assuming you plan to stay for 2 years anyway.

Unlimited vacation is also a hoax and discover’s is more than generous. So I’d say the comp ends up being a wash once you factor in that and benefits

like

Ciox
Higher base helps with new wage levels for H1B and GC processing sooner rather than later is better if you have less than 3 years left on your H-1B.

Have 2 offers need your thoughts on 1. NY based bank that is my current client, willing to convert me full time as a Sr BA. on-site role in NYC comp 20% more than other offer. However, not too exciting work and culture is pretty old school.
2. Deloitte SC (CBO) can be based out of anywhere, which I like (prefer moving to a lower COL city from NYC area). Have a 2yo so a bit worried how much travel the role would entail.

I feel like people don’t take me seriously at my job given that I have a junior title. Half my job consists of chasing after people and no one bothers to answer my emails or follow up. Usually the requests I have come from my boss or for big projects we’d be working on. Thankfully, my boss helps me out & emails the people I need when I tell her no one responds but they’ll answer her in 2 mins or less when she sends it. Though I’m happy she’s helping, it’s such a pain in the ass to wait around.
