Dear Hotel Room Previous Guest, while I appreciate your desire to wake at 5 am, I do not appreciate you setting the room's bedside alarm to support that goal (cont'd)...

Dear current guest, while I appreciate your note I will strongly suggest you get in the habit of checking the alarm clock before going to bed so you can avoid getting up extra early if you don't want to. Yours truly, An early bird

like

Dear guests in the room next to me: stop fighting. Turn the f*#king alarm off. And quit yelling into the phone. I heard the whole conversation you had with the front desk last night about your precious "points" for a hand towel being him in improper fashion by the cleaning staff.

Dear Early Bird, In addition to the golden rule, another key tenet of life is "leave it like you found it." Yours truly, Common Courtesy

like

Dear Common Courtesy, Common sense (e.g., checking alarm settings) most times trumps common courtesy. Yours truly, Pro-Traveler.

like

Dear Pro-Traveler, Would you be so kind as to share other tips required to overcome others' lack of travel courtesy?...check the seat back pocket for used Kleenex...wipe the toilet seat of pee... Anxiously awaiting, Clueless Roadie

like

Dear Clueless Roadie, the key tip for travel, and maybe even life, is always be prepared for the worst but hope for the best. In other words, don't expect people to think of or for you. So always be proactive in doing what you need to do. In this simple case, it would have taken you less time to check the alarm clock than it took you to write a post and go back and forth with me!, wishing you safe travels.

like

Heavens to Betsy, EY1...your language! But I would expect nothing less from someone who has such a pessimistic view of how we should be expected to interact as humans. Your sense of others who are also going through this world is quite myopic.

like

And I especially don't appreciate leaving it set after checking out. Also, you do realize cell phones have alarms now, right? Yours truly, The Present Day

Ha...but the silver lining is I have so much more time on my hands to write these posts given my unplanned, early wake up. Yours truly, Enjoying the Extra Hours

So quit your bitching!

Pessimistic view?! Lol I see a few of hours of less sleep don't seem to do you any good! Its ok @Op go nap and take your blankie wit you. :)
