Dear Mexican friends, happy independence day. I'm really happy with your happiness.
Female here - Just found out we’re pregnant after TTC and having fertility support. What’s the first thing I need to buy to celebrate 🎉
Looking for baby moon recommendations for early March. Obviously Covid is an issue, but hoping it’ll be better by then (at least this omicron wave may be over) somewhere warm, and not too far of a flight from DC area, tho if it’s affordable we are willing to fly. Trying to stay in the states since pregnant. Any reccs? I’ll be about 20 weeks pregnant. I know it’s early but it’s the only time we’ll be able to take before the baby comes.
If LinkedIn and Reddit had a child, Fishbowl would be it. Or at least that’s my first impression…Hello All!
I have COVID and have not been back to school since Christmas break. My district does not require a negative test to return, just 5 days of quarantine. However, I am a special Ed teacher and work with medically fragile kiddos. As a parent I would not want my child’s teacher to return to school knowing they could infect someone…does this seem right???
Two days in a row we got a phone call from daycare saying our 15 month old son bit another kid. We are currently going through some life changes (moving homes, switching daycare) and he has (cont...)
Question for moms past the young toddler phase - at what age did you find your child could safely & independently play/entertain themselves for 30-60 minutes? My just-turned 2 y.o. can play fairly well independently for 5-10 minutes and of course needs to be very closely supervised for safety (he loves to climb).
Just trying to put in perspective when we may get to the next step of having a chance to do something while we know he is safe/playing on his own. Thanks!
Got the absolute worst freaking cold at 38 weeks. Had the flu and covid vaccines and am testing negative for covid but omg I cannot shift this after a week and I swear it's getting worse. Any advice for what I can take?! So decongested combined with baby pressing on my lungs makes me feel I'm constantly short on oxygen so just not sleeping at all :(
How long does it take to get over ptsd from being in a toxic micromanaging environment?
I was a top biller and top manager at a large staffing company for five years and was treated like a child. The place was crazy. Six months into my new role I’m still scared to request PTO or afraid that my boss would be mad if she found that I took an afternoon break to walk my dog.
I am so sick of hearing about well-being and the “tips” we should adopt in trying to make a difference. Blocking out time in my diary doesn’t do anything aside from making my days longer. It’s about time management assess workload (client and non client) and actively resolve that as the FIRST step to helping most of our wellbeing. Rant, sorry.
Alright so there’s a thing called reclaim my status. If you had a reason why you lost status in the last year or two like COVID, baby, new job, etc. You need to submit some basic documentation and they give you that status for 3 months with a DRASTICALLY lower threshold to make the status permanent and even higher tiers are much easier to obtain during those 3 months. Google “reclaim my status Delta”
For new/newer moms- did working from home make a difference when you were pregnant? Does it make a difference for you now (presuming you have some form of childcare while you work)?
EDIT: We just found out we’re pregnant and I’m trying to see if negotiating permanent WFH with a couple of prospective employers is worth it. Not even hybrid appeals to me, tbh
Welcome everyone! I’m so happy this is being utilized. A little background on me, I got my Bachelor’s when I was 20 and immediately went into both Child & Adult Protection careers. I then worked as a crisis counselor and a behavioral health specialist, and now I’m 26 at Monroe Plan for Medical Care working on expanding our Health Home Program into a new county where I’m our only employee!! My goals are to grow financially so that I can give back to our underserved populations even more.
Had a bad week. I felt as if I got nothing done. I am the caretaker for my mother, and I have a five-year-old and a truck-driving boyfriend (who is pulls a lot of energy the two days I see him). I’m trying to grow my career and a healthy little girl. Any suggestions on releasing the mental strain.
The waiting game when you really want something is worse than taking a child to a candy store only to tell them no. 😅 Liberty Mutual Insurance
Seeing all of the moms at bring your kid to work day makes me 😄 I hope I can be like you one day!
I wonder where this yeah baby is now
Anyone familiar with East Long Beach, Lakewood, Los Alamitos area? Relocating from the valley and seeking guidance on neighborhoods to target/avoid etc. FWIW early thirties couple with a super young kid
Not accounting related but feel like I lost my chance - was interested in someone that just started and there was some back and forth flirting. Just found out he started dating someone. Ugh

I am leaving the classroom.
I don't want to manage so many humans at one time, anymore. I'm considering working remote to be able to travel more easily and figure out where I want to live and what I want.
Is there anyone who has left the classroom or the education field? What jobs were you able to transition into?
milestone achievement 🏵️

Hi All, I am being offered a role at Adani in the application development team. However my experience is in ML and Data Science. I have no experience is software coding whatsoever. Please help me in deciding if my career switch from ML to application development would be wise or not.
Tech Stack: Python, R, PySpark (basic)
YoE: 4 (1.5 years without ML or DS just coding in python that too for POC purpose only).
Do you think the tech industry cares if you have a MBA or should you focus on improving your skills?
What's a good salary for 4.5 years of experience as a Big Data Engineer (Azure/PySpark/Databricks) in the Amsterdam/Utrecht area?

Chicago consulting ppl - how much do you pay for the rent ?
Sometimes I feel its not worth to pay the high rents when you are going to stay for only 10-12 days in a month because of travel.
