If your getting pressured to submit something “asap/now/EOD” like how to do it without sacrificing quality. Like what a partner prefer me to say listen I’ll get it to you but it’s 70% there or let me work the rest of the night and it’ll be 85% lol I’m an associate that’s as much as I can give there’s there a perfect product.

I left my firm a week ago. My main reason was the culture (not taking D&I seriously, not a culture of appreciation, lacking vision) but a close second was WLB. I’m taking 2 months off before my next job. They seem more in line with my values. And WLB could be a bit better but not substantially bc it is still PA! I’m hoping for the best but.. just in case.. Has anyone actually looked at the math, calculated, and compared a freelance day rate of about 1-1.2k, booked for whatever % of the year, versus a full time staff salary of say, 200k… at what numbers do they even out when you factor in taxes, health insurance, paid vaca time etc? Hard to say which is more lucrative with the variables, but, any insights?
