The sales pressure at JPM PB is intense, every year you are measured against your peers on net new clients and net new assets, the delta from year to year is a huge factor that determines your bonuses and raises. The upside is tremendous if you are successful, along with the network you can build. If you are up for a challenge and potentially get a significant increase in total comp, this will be a great opportunity, but you will have to work your butt off. Good luck!
It really depends on which business line you are in (IB will be higher than WM). And I honestly don’t know what’s it is now that I been gone for 7+yrs.
What is expected comp for the VP position?
Awesome thank you. Do you know associate numbers? Is it 3 years as associate?
I’m thinking about moving from IB to private banking in the future.
Guess it depends how old are you now, if you have a family, and enjoying enough vacations?
Totally agree, and if kids were a probability I would definitely not be taking this job. Though I do feel the need to make a move as I’ve been passed over for promotion one too many times. However I’d stay in banking (lending) and had a competing offer to do so at a competitor if I needed work life balance currently. But I can always go back to that if JPM is a bad fit. Year one comp alone will make up for a lot though, plus it’s a resume enhancement for me as I’ve been at regional and small firms my whole career.
